'I've Had Enough:' When Democrats Quit on Obama
National Journal ^ | June 9, 2014 | Ron Fournier

Posted on 06/09/2014 8:13:34 AM PDT by don-o

The email hit my in-box at 9:41 p.m. last Wednesday. From one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington, a close adviser to the White House, the missive amounted to an electronic eye roll. "Even I have had enough."

Another Democrat had quit on President Obama.

The tipping point for this person was the Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl case—not the soldier-for-Taliban swap itself as much as how the White House mishandled its obligation to communicate effectively and honestly to Congress and the public. More than that, Obama's team had failed once again to acknowledge its mistakes, preferring to cast blame and seek cover behind talking points.

"DC is hard, and depressing," the Democrat wrote. "I still believe good comes from government (e.g. 8 million in ACA). But that Politico story is a cautionary one: good reminder that you can't go so in the bunker [and] no longer identify legitimate criticism." That day, Politico had posted a story channeling the White House communications team's response to the Bergdahl backlash. Share This Story

White House aides were aware Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl had been tagged a deserter, and that they would be grilled over not keeping Congress in the loop. But they figured people would be most outraged over the national security implications.

The White House has been surprised by how much attention has remained on the questions about Bergdahl, from the circumstances of his disappearance to the wild beard his father grew while he was being held that's even led to Bergdahl's hometown canceling a celebration. All this, Obama aides say, is in their minds a proxy for the hatred toward the president.

The new approach: Frame the criticism as another example of Republicans complaining about something just because Obama was the one to do it.

At this point they all can throw up their collective arms and say they’ve had ‘enough’. Doesn’t matter. The damage has been done and gravity has taken over.

This means that they will simply shift their adoration to Hillary, which is why it is so important to destroy her now.

Some Dems are awakening from their partisan coma. Impeachment is not on their minds, but the next two elections are. They see that Obama is leading them toward an electoral b l o o d b a t h in Nov, & they are even beginning to sense he could singlehandedly give the WH to the GOP in ‘16. They are in a hopeless quandary. Throwing Obama under the bus will not help their brand. Continuing to support the Obama trainwreck won’t help them either. [Obama’s negative average on RealClearPolitics hit -10.4 earlier today, before ‘rebounding’ to -9.8. This is toxicity level, & Obama has been stuck there for what must seem to Dems like forever.]

No, they won’t impeach him. Their black voters would revolt as has never been witnessed before, & likely never would be again. But they are trying to figure out how to avoid going down w Obama’s sinking ship. They have few options, none of them good. They’ll probably ultimately be stuck w simply trying to talk him into doing things differently, so as to stop the b l e e d i n g. He won’t listen, & they’ll lose big in Nov, if the Good Lord delays His return, & bigger in ‘16.

I remember all those jilted women for Hillary who were going to stop Obama in 2008. Oh yeah.

Sorry, this article is water-carrying hogwash. ‘He's a talented guy but guy but can't lead’, ‘we're not good at the small stuff’. What I set here is a shot across the bow to save the Democrat face. The problem is Obama but it's just as much the Democrats (and the RINO’s, too). It's an ideology problem.....and it needs fixing, not whitewash.

LIES!

And they'll become conservative before the next election too.
Then it's back to old fashioned fascism, socialism,
communism, and the work to destroy our Country!

Their votes will not change, their stripes will not change.
Bring back duels!

A better approach would be to charge everyone who works with Obama with crimes, hopefully jail time. The HOR and US Senate are making a big mistake not doing that when "the inner circle" refuses to testify or give false testimony. They should be put in jail.

That way, Obama advisors will become very leary of implementing Obama's unconstituional dictates.

hillary, Susan Rice, Lois Lerner would be a good start.

The key questions to ask those Democrats who have “quit” Ophonybama are:

Did you take notes? and

Can I publish them? and

Will you testify at Ophonybama’s impeachment?

All this means is that it’s time to cut him loose for their own personal gain, and not for this country.

As usual it’s not the policy that is objected to, the person is upset because the “messaging” wasn’t handled well.

Pffft.

Obama’s a cash cow. No Democrat who covets Obama’s support will criticize him publicly-cowards.

As God is my witness I had no idea that TOTUS was considered a powerful Democrat.

But seriously, or series, "a close adviser" to the White House? Yeah. Right.

I don’t believe a single word Ron Fournier writes. He’s in the tank for Mulla Baraq and the Progs now and forever.
