I can’t imagine why this would be relevant. A thousand thugs rob stores, and only a hundred shoot people in the robbery. Why does it matter that the other 900 robbed stores too? Of the hundred who shot people, only ten will score a kill. Why does the fact that the other 90 get much lighter sentences matter on what to do with the murderers? Of those ten, only one (at most) will shoot the wrong person, in the wrong jurisdiction, and get the death penalty. Again, I don’t see how the actions of others excuse bad actions.
As for Bergdahl, I’m not fond of deserters and traitors. I know (and have always known) that he was not the only one. I consider Obama far worse than Bergdahl. Still, if Bergdahl did desert his post in the field, he is guilty of a serious crime.
It’s all his recruiters fault. He should have been weeded out! /s
