A Linwood man was arrested Wednesday by federal IRS agents for allegedly filing five years of false income tax returns.
A grand jury indicment says Frank Dominico, 65, failed to report about $2.5 million in personal income from his job as treasurer and president of General Glass Equipment Co. in Absecon.
Dominico also is accused of falsely claiming mortgage interest on his home that he did not pay and submitting a number of W-2 forms to the IRS that included false information, the indictment says.
Each of the five charges in the indictment carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Dominico worked at General Glass from 2004 to 2009. He was responsible for handling accounting and financial rolls, including payroll, preparing tax returns and maintaining corporate financial records.
A bail hearing may be set for today in federal court in Camden.
Officials with the equipment company issued a news release saying they have cooperated with the IRS and other law-enforcement agencies as Dominico was investigated.
The news release says Dominico has not worked with the company since his abrupt resignation in July 2009. Additionally, the company is pursuing a separate civil case against Dominico, the release says.
He should donated to the democrats where he could have gotten off with nothing. —
Jon Corzine would agree.
Yep, that’ll definitely get you arrested.
It’s good to be in charge of payroll, until there’s a knock on the door.
“...treasurer and president of General Glass Equipment Co. in Absecon...”
Seems he “Abseconded” with the government’s money.....
The government frowns on embezzlement but WILL NOT be denied its cut of the proceeds.
Mob wise guy?
It’s apparently against the law to impersonate Timothy Geithner
You.. can be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes! You can be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes! You say.. “Steve.. how can I be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes?” First.. get a million dollars. Now.. you say, “Steve.. what do I say to the tax man when he comes to my door and says, ‘You.. have never paid taxes’?” Two simple words. Two simple words in the English language: “I forgot!” How many times do we let ourselves get into terrible situations because we don’t say “I forgot”? Let’s say you’re on trial for armed robbery. You say to the judge, “I forgot armed robbery was illegal.” Let’s suppose he says back to you, “You have committed a foul crime. you have stolen hundreds and thousands of dollars from people at random, and you say, ‘I forgot’?” Two simple words: Excuuuuuse me!!”
A quick search shows he donated $500 to Arlen Specter in 2002.
Re your post #9, that was the Steve Martin skit that came immediately to mind when I first read the story. Thanks for posting it. I think it’s hilarious.
