Skip to comments. How much does right-wing rhetoric contribute to right-wing terrorism?

Yesterday, a man and a woman shot two police officers in a Las Vegas restaurant after saying, this is a revolution. Then they draped their bodies in a Gadsden flag. According to reports now coming in, the couple (who later killed themselves) appear to have been white supremacists and told neighbors they had gone to join the protests in support of anti-government rancher Cliven Bundy. It was one more incident of right-wing terrorism that, while not exactly an epidemic, has become enough of a trend to raise some troubling questions.
What Im about to say will raise some hackles, but we need to talk about it. Its long past time for prominent conservatives and Republicans to do some introspection and ask whether theyre contributing to outbreaks of right-wing violence. --snip--
And I promise you, these murders in Nevada will not be the last. It may be going too far to say that conservative politicians and media figures whose rhetoric has fed the deranged fantasies of terrorists and killers have blood on their hands. But they shouldnt have a clear conscience, either.

typical of the Soros Media
Simply two words is all he’s worth...
Bull$h!t. This is just a justification for criminalizing the speech of normal people. (They call normal people “right wingers”)
I bet the MSM are excited about the possibility that they have a confirmed death from someone in the NRA, Tea Party, or just a registered Republican.
White supremacism has nothing in common with conservatism. Not a damn thing.
The projection by these people is amazing.
What does Bundy have to do with right wing?
There weren’t any swastikas carried at his ranch.
These yahoos were NOT right-leaning at all. They were Nazi-wannabees (German Socialist party).
I don’t think you can point to a single “right wing” violence episode in the last... well, forever (mcveigh was a ultra-lefty).
Has anyone ever done a study about who commits more violent crimes, Republicans or Democrats?
They were socialist meth users.
When the government is lawless the citizens have no incentive to respect the law. In fact, following the law while the government flouts it may put the citizens at risk. So, as long as we have a lawless, outright criminal government, we can expect more of this, unfortunately, just as Mullah Baraq planned....
Nazis are socialists.
KKK are Democrats on steroids. The KKK was born as the militant arm of the Democrat party.
Simply facts. Inconvenient facts for this moron “journalist”.
A simple prison census would probably answer that one rather quickly.
Was General Sheridan a right winger?
I think he was quoted “The only good queer is dead queer”
Of course that would be not PC today and he probably would have caught hell for saying it. The thought police would have been all over him
They usually just blame it on right wingers any way. Just like when international terrorists attack America/Americans....they blame America.
If they did it would never get published - and we know why.
It’s not even close, doesn’t require a study.
These people were meth heads and National Socialists.
Not sure how that has anything to do with conservatism.
More than you think
How much does Muslim rhetoric contribute to terrorism?
What a stupid article. Crazy people, leftists, and sons of Obama kill people. There is no right wing terrorism.
“I dont think you can point to a single right wing violence episode in the last... well, forever (mcveigh was a ultra-lefty).”
Everyone wants to paint the political “spectrum” as a line, when it’s really a circle with the loony left and right connecting diametrically opposite the “middle” where the people who are completely stupid reside.
well lets compare the numbers 2 for the right wingers and about 300M for the left wingers Hitler, Mussolini, Mao, Pol Pot, Lenin, Stalin, etc, etc, etc.
And how much do Islamic terrorists contribute to the Obama government's left-wing policy?
I read some of the McVeigh rantings and he could have given speeches at an ANSWER rally.
Of course Che Guevara T-shirts are not about celebrating a murdering lawless ‘revolutionary’.
according the the other post then it’s two more for the left wing Nazi’s.
Right wing terror? More left wingers committing terror everyday.
If we were really interested in stopping terrorism, we would wiretap Democrats, liberals, socialists, communists, anarchists, greens, and other assorted Leftists. The Hussein Administration only wiretaps people they don’t personally like (AKA conservatives), so it’s no surprised that mass shootings and crime aren’t going to be prevented by the NSA.
——How much does right-wing rhetoric contribute to right-wing terrorism?-——
The answer is “0”.....
Right wing or left wing terrorist are mentally ill....
If you mean “A-hole” just write “A-hole”.
I was going to comment on this, but we have only limited internet access here in the FEMA concentration camp.
Are we supposed to feel guilty or something here? There are kooks in every crowd, and there certainly more then enough on the left.
I googled this Paul Waldman. Writes for the Washington Post, works for the American Prospect, used to work for Media Matters. Probably Mother Jones & The Nation, too.
Waaaaay out in left field. Waldman also wrote, “Obama must fix the VA mess in order to redeem the liberal vision for America”.
A Che Guevara poster hangs on his bedroom wall, no doubt.
To Hell with that guy. Wonder if he had any “troubling questions” after the terrorism, I mean, workplace violence at Fort Hood.
I can’t wait for Obama to go on tv and claim that if he had a right wing nutcase in his family, he would look like the guy in Vegas...
That’s good, now let’s check all the prisons and see which party has more felons in them.
Given the amount of violence committed by obvious left wingers recently wouldn’t a better question be how much does the president’s statist rhetoric contribute to left wing terrorism?
Liberals loved and encouraged the Arab Spring. Why wouldn’t they embrace one here? Or did the liberals inspire these guys? I mean, since Obama encourages and supports this overseas, no wonder the halfwit liberals think it’s OK here
To be honest, I would put the “unabomber” in the class of “ultra-conservative”, not “right-wing” since that is reserved for NAZI/Fascist types. Right-wing and Communist’s are just different sides of the same coin.
Ted Kaczynski, while I wholeheartedly disagree with his tactics, was extremely anti-left, anti-Progressive and actually had seen the destruction today’s leftist’s are advancing today.
He is no hero, but his manifesto reads like almost any rant from today’s conservatives.
"When did you stop beating your wife?"
