Rise in Carbon Dioxide Level Linked to Low Quality Food - Study (Bust a Gut Laugh Alert)

Carbon dioxide and climate change will lower the quality of food in the future, claims a new study.

Wheat, rice, maize and soybeans are key sources of nutrients for more than 2 billion people residing in poor countries. But with the rising amount of carbon dioxide in the air combined with climate change, nutrient level in crops is set to drop.

The study was conducted by Harvard University researchers and colleagues who fear that several major crops - such as wheat and rice - with good nutrient value will have low levels of proteins and zinc in the future.

The climate boobs ARE getting desperate. Food quality depends on the nutrient density in the soil, not the air.

So what do plants remove from the air?

Simply ask a gorebull smarming believer why he hates trees. If he hates CO2 then logic claims he would hate all growing things.

So here’s my guess, high co2 levels actually makes crops grow faster, which may mean a lower nutrient level pound for pound. On the other hand, crops yield will also experience an increase. Funny the researchers didn’t mention that.

It’s funny until you remember that the tax payer is funding these studies.

Ha ... I thought this was somehow going to be connected to Moochelle’s “food deserts”.

You missed the point. He wants more money for more research.

We all know how much plants hate carbon dioxide.

He wants more money for more research.

Every report I've ever seen ends with the sentence, "More investigation is needed."

Including those I've produced.

Is this a trick question?

No what is mainly changing the quality of food especially with fruit and vegetables is the non ceasing meddling in altering it for shipping and shelf life purposes. In almost every case TASTE is the loss. I live a couple counties away from the nations tomato capitol and no good and juicy ones are to be had in local stores. Ripe Tomatoes are not supposed to be crunchy and hard inside.

However, the team of researchers was unable to explain the mechanism involved in the reduction of nutrient level in food plants.

And this is what passes for science today.

But with the rising amount of carbon dioxide in the air combined with climate change, nutrient level in crops is set to drop.

I recall from 6th grade science that plants LOVE CO2

When did that change? When Obama took office?
