Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has pulled his support from a deal to sell the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and will pursue his $1 billion federal lawsuit against the NBA, his attorney said Monday.

"We have been instructed to prosecute the lawsuit," said attorney Maxwell Blecher. He said co-owner Donald Sterling would not be signing off on the deal to sell.

Donald Stirling and Barack Obama have in common the consistency of their behavior. What a team.

Turning down a $2BILLION offer for a team worth $500 Million for the chance for a $1Billion lawsuit that has a 1% chance of winning shows this guy has caught some serious bugs from his squeeze.

Take the money and run. Go on, take the money and run.

It’s a negotiating ploy. Ballmer was going to pay a lot for Yahoo, but they kept moving the price. Maybe Sterling will only move the goal once. I can’t believe the prospect of a multi-year lawsuit is all that exciting to a man in his 80’s reputed to be in failing health due to cancer.

excellent. The NBA and their media cheerleaders bullied a sick old man. This will be fun to watch.

Doesn’t he have to demonstrate a forced sale for tax avoidance purposes? It could be as simple as that.

I think I’ll wait and see on this one.

This may just be a move by Sterling’s lawyer to encourage the NBA not to try to block the sale.

I would imagine that Sterling probably has a smart lawyer working on this.

What’s he going to do with another 2 billion at this point in his life. This may be his last chance to have some fun.

Or he's just batshit crazy from dementia/alzheimers.

A smart person would take the money and run, laughing all the way to the bank.
