2nd Congressional district
More good news! A true conservative to replace the sodomizer running for governor. Hope LePage gives him a black eye.
Yeah, Michaud and Cutler are running for governor
With 20 % in, it’s tightening up
He’s 20 points ahead with 27% in. I think Poliquin has it!
Yes the state has 2 CDs, one being relatively small near the coast (Portland)... the other? “Covering 27,326 square miles (70,770 km2), it comprises nearly 80% of the state’s total land area. It is the largest district east of the Mississippi River and the 24th-largest overall. The district comprises most of the land area north of the Portland and Augusta metropolitan areas. It includes the cities of Bangor, Lewiston, Auburn, and Presque Isle”
Maine is as big or bigger than the other 5 New England states put together.
Bangor is in the district and their famed horror writer Stephen King owns some radio stations there including progressive talk (of course, given his politics) WZON.
We’re heading to Maine in a few days for Lobstah and some R and R...we love Maine...around Portland, Kennebunkport area...
Been up there a few times in past yr—Seashore Trolley Museum in K-port is fun..nice New Orleans restaurant, Po Boys and Pickles, on Forest Ave.
Last yr I was on the Portland Narrow Gauge Railroad but we heard they were prob. relocating to Gray.
Brewpubs and shops in Portland...only downer for me is
the friggin’ toll booths
Thankfully, there are no toll booths in my part of the state, near “Down East.”
We were in Kennebunkport the day Elder Bush jumped from the helicopter for his 90th...They had balloons on the plack in the ground at the viewing area (across from Bush Compound). We had binoculars and could see Jr Bush and Laura and lot of the guests there for birthday party.
We drove to Ogunquit, York, and went to New Hampshire to White Mountains. Rode the Cog train up Mt. Washington, had a clear day for a beautiful view....
We hit some pubs in Portland, chatted with locals for hours at Matthews, the oldest pub in Portland...
That’s great...have driven around the Kennebunkport/York/Ogunquit area. Great you could see those people!
I like the Great Lost Bear and Three Dollar Dewey’s in Portland and (can’t remember if I mentioned) Po Boys and Pickles, a nice New Orleans style place on Forest Ave.
