It means that GOPe lost, and now it’s time for them to sit their butt down, shut their trap, get in line, and support the nominee for the good of the party.

Cuz that’s what they tell us when their guy wins.

As an old econ (econometrics/stats) major, he sort of woke me up with the way he talks. He’s obviously a very intelligent man. Can’t have too many like him.

He resonates well, so who’s his mirror image (or closest to it) who could run for POTUS in 2016?

Maybe Kasich?

Sarah Palin

Congratulations to Dave Brat in Virginia on such an encouraging victory tonight! You shocked the political world and reminded D.C. that power lies with We the People and not any conventional party establishment. Dave Brat was massively outspent (more than 10 to 1) and laughed off by most, but he won the trust of voters the old fashioned way – one by one. Tonight’s victory showed the power of the local grassroots – the ones with boots on the ground who put up the campaign signs and go door to door to provide needed support for great candidates. Appreciation also goes to those with powerful microphones like Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, Ann Coulter and others who recognized Dave’s strengths and had the guts to provide him a megaphone to reach concerned citizens.

Grassroots commonsense conservatives can use this momentum to push good candidates like Chris McDaniel, T.W. Shannon, and Rob Maness to victory for America. These candidates are also being massively outspent by establishment candidates and they need our help and energy.

Thank you, Virginia! On to November!

- Sarah Palin

First, I am using the real definition of amnesty, i.e., any legislation that allows the lawbreakers to stay and work here, the object of their crimes, is amnesty.

Univision - Interview with Sarah Palin October 26, 2008

Q: Should undocumented immigrants all be deported?

A: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant--there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants--not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue.

Q: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 million undocumented immigrants?

A: No, I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. We have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

Q: So you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

A: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

O'Reilly 2010 interview

There are other links including her conversation with Lars Larson. The bottom line is that she supports allowing them to stay and work here if they "play by the rules."

I like Sarah Palin, but she is wrong on this issue. The proponents of amnesty are wont to create the false choice between mass deportation and a blanket amnesty. We have other alternatives. Attrition thru enforcement works.

Michael Medved (RINO Radio) today was wondering why no conservative celebrities had publicly come out for Eric Cantor.

Medved is convinced that Sarah Palin would have campaigned for Cantor if he had asked her. Medved is also convinced that Democrats crossed over to nominate Brat because they know that they can beat him. And he’s convinced that amnesty played no role in Cantor’s defeat.

For those of you in California, Medved is a huge supporter of Neel Kashkari who defeated tea party candidate Tim Donnelly.

That should be all you need to know about Neel Kashkari who admits to having voted for Barack Obama, and who supports gay marriage and amnesty. Hugh Hewitt is also a huge Neel Kashkari fan.

Both Medved and Hewitt denounced Tim Donnelly as the worst candidate running in any GOP primary.

Medved and Hewett have shows that come into the Tucson area. I avoid both. But I was wondering how the RINOs tried to explain away Brat’s win. Now I know they think the dems were stepping up a fall guy for themselves. Harumph!

It is more important for them to have establishment types be the “only viable candidates in the general,” even when they lose or they end up betraying us. I think a good weather vane would be to listen harder to those they dismiss, and tune out those they promote, like Hewett does with”fast-talking, slick and sly” Rubio.

Here amnesty position is not on Sarahpac and I had trouble finding anything real recent.
Here’s what I found on Huffpo just recently:

Either unaware or unsatisfied by those developments on border security, Palin wrote that giving undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship would only help further “bankrupt” the government. The Congressional Budget Office has predicted the bill would reduce the deficit by about $200 billion over the next 10 years and by about $700 billion over the following decade, but Palin cites a highly controversial Heritage Foundation report that claimed immigrants would provide no net economic benefits, and would only cost the nation by drawing from entitlement programs.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/24/sarah-palin-immigration-reform_n_3491111.html

Then this was on Breitbart:
Palin also contrasted Maness with the more liberal Republican running to replace Landrieu, as Breitbart News reported:

She hailed Maness, who has wrestled an alligator in a campaign commercial, as a “true conservative” for “opposing amnesty, pledging to protect our Second Amendment rights, and promising to defund Obamacare.”

Kashkari is of Indian descent. Dot Indian, not feather Indian.

He is very wealthy and has Wall Street connections so funding his campaign was no problem. He was also the chosen candidate of the GOPe so he could have tapped that source of money as well.

What he doesn’t have is a single conservative bone in his body. He voted for Obama in 2008. He supports amnesty, gay marriage and abortion.

In other words he’s a perfect candidate in the eyes of RINO phonies like Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt.

The question is how does she define amnesty. A path to citizenship is not necessary for an amnesty. Obama and McCain are against amnesty. They say if you pay a fine, learn English, and get to the back of the line, that is not amnesty.

I think the term "amnesty" is too loosely used.

All here would, I think, agree that the current situation is unacceptable and we just can't do nothing.

How about this:
- the borders need to be properly controlled to prevent further illegal immigration
- the legal immigration system is a mess and needs to be fixed
- those illegal immigrants on welfare and other government programs must return to their homelands
- those in the US who are working and self-supporting get temporary work permits. If they want to stay long-term, they must get in line to apply for legal immigrant (green-card) status along with everyone else in the world who wants to immigrate to the US.

If you wish to call that amnesty, then I am in favor of it and ask "What is your solution?"

I like what you have suggested, other than I think that "controlling the border" is impossible, in practicality. It's too large, and the incentive for sneaking across it is too large. They will always find a way.

The only way to "close" the border is to stop providing incentives for crossing it illegally. Cut off the freebies (including medical care and education), and make it as difficult as possible to get a job, rent a house, drive a car, etc. and the incentive dries up. Unfortunately, completely eliminating the freebies would require a change in the Constitution, or at least a reinterpretation of the 14th amendment to eliminate "anchor babies".

I understand the appeal of "guest workers", but we have plenty of people that would like entry level jobs. Yes, there are many that don't want to work that hard, but without the illegal immigrant flood, wages will go up. There was an article a few days ago noting that entry level jobs at Wal-Mart were paying $17/hour in North Dakota, because it was the only way they could get applicants. Of course, we would risk more inflation, because they can't raise wages without raising prices. But, that money would stay in the US, rather than being remitted to Mexico.

The other suggestion I would make: no green card or guest worker permits if you are already in the US illegally. You go home and apply for one. If you are caught in the US while waiting for approval, you are excluded -- permanently.

I have a problem with this line of rhetoric. This means that we are to become a majority Latino country at some time in this century. How is this construed as a good idea? If my immigrant grandfather wanted to go to Latin America, or wanted me to become a Latin America, or wished our family to live without the benefit of the English law, why then, that's where he would have gone. Millions did, you know?

To fundamentally change the demographic of the nation in less than 100 years will be to destroy it as a Republic. We cannot assimilate a new population that outnumbers us. We can be assimilated after a while by a new majority.

¿Es que no comprendeis os?
