Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) called on Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to outline the administration's plan to handle a huge influx of children migrating across the U.S.-Mexico border.
“What we need is a comprehensive look at what are the incentives that would convince parents to send their unaccompanied children on this horrific journey,” Cornyn said on Tuesday. “We need to know that the president’s plan is to deal with this.”
Cornyn’s comments came as senators announced a nearly $2 billion deal to address the issue after the administration said 47,000 children have been caught crossing the border since October of 2013. Cornyn said the massive increase of unaccompanied children is a result of President Obama’s decision to defer deportation of undocumented immigrants who came to the country as children, a group commonly referred to as “Dreamers.”
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) joined Cornyn, saying it is an issue that “deserves the attention of all of us.”
“There has to be some kind of organized effort that is bringing them here,” McCain said. “The average 5-or-6-year-old doesn’t just randomly decide to leave home one day.”
Johnson is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and Cornyn is expected to grill him on this matter.
“The administration needs to deal with this crisis, particularly this humanitarian crisis,” Cornyn said. “Border agencies have been completely overwhelmed. ... This is a huge mess.”
The Texas Republican said this is what happens when the president "goes it alone" on immigration reform. The Senate has passed a bipartisan immigration reform bill but the House has failed to act.
Cornyn urged Obama to not apply the deferred action program to children currently arriving at the border, and provide resources to border states to address the problem.
"President Obama essentially created this problem and now he has the opportunity to work with us to fix it," Cornyn said.

How is this not human trafficking? We know that children are sexual objects and in this case, could they not be used as that and as human shields for whatever bad guys want them to be? Who could be hiding in the midst of these adorable childhood masses? It is too repugnant and disturbing for words. When little children are motherless and fatherless, bad things happen to them. The borders need to be closed immediately and the children now here need to be sent to Washington D.C. and the adjacent areas, which is where the richest government workers responsible for all this reside. If other states want to help with this now gigantic problem, they will let Washington know. This is purely and simply a planned invasion of the United States of America and it should be stopped immediately and an investigation and criminal prosecution should happen for anyone in this nation behind this, who would use these children and put them at risk in this way.
These are all future rat voters. More than likely, the Obungler will use his pen and phone, to give them amnesty.

To import them just to pad the voter rolls, as rotten as that is, is nothing compared to the major reason the Soros Administration is creating this tsunami of disease-ridden, non-English-speaking aliens.
The plan is to overwhelm the native population with people who drain our resources and who have no allegiance to the USA. Western civilization in this country will be drowned out. The rule of law and civil society will be mere memories.

I have been privileged to live most of my life in a country that was the greatest human force for good that the world has ever known. So sad to see it so maliciously destroyed from within. Makes me weep for my grandchildren.
It seems that Obama is already handling the immigration issue with the same competence displayed during the Obamacare roll-out.

This is another Obama plot to create more chaos in this country. Valerie Jarrett has been meeting with illegal immigration activists.
IMO, they hatched this scheme to flood the country with illegal immigrant children. This will overwhelm the states’ social services with “orphans”. They will all need housing, education, food, & health care. The welfare rolls will double in 10 years.
Naturally, no “compassionate American” would suggest the children be returned home to their parents. The only option other than packing them into orphanages is to bring the parents to the US to care for their children.
They are filling unused military bases today. Tomorrow they will be housed in civic centers & school gyms. After that I expect big gubmint to build them whole welfare communities.
These kids will not be picking fruits & vegetables, nor doing the jobs Americans wont do. No, they will be instant welfare recipients for years if not for their entire lives.
Obama has thrown open the border & invited the whole of Central America to move to the USA to collect their entitled freebies.
One more thing: I seriously doubt RESPONSIBLE Central American parents are sending their kids, unattended & unprotected, to the USA. More likely, the scum of Central America are dumping their kids here in hopes of gaming the US system with their “anchor kids”. Further, many of these “kids” are likely hardened criminals from years of abuse & neglect - they will be a significant & deadly addition to our growing gang culture.

Maybe the government will tell us to open our doors, and tell us to let them live in our homes. Won't you just love that? Some time ago, I never thought that would even be a remote possibility. Now, I am not so sure they wouldn't do it.
They’ll find the kid’s parents or nearest relative to come and get them. Once they get here, it will be determined it would be “inhumane” to send the child back, so they’ll all have to stay.
