Rand Paul to Discuss ‘Need for Immigration Reform’
Wall Street Journal ^ | June 10, 2014 | Reid J. Epstein

Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) voted against the Senate’s comprehensive immigration reform bill last year, but on Wednesday he plans to “discuss the need for immigration reform.”

Mr. Paul will join former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Partnership for a New American Economy’s monthly series on immigration reform hosted by Grover Norquist.

The only "reform" we need is for Ubama/Holder to enforce the law they have, not the law they wish they had.

Ubama/Holder are engaging in criminal activity by refusing to enforce current immigration law. They should both spend ten years in a federal prison, at least.

Cantor is one of the US Chamber of Commerce’s star Amnesty Whores that has become a lame, (but still very dangerous), duck, and there are many, Many more Amnesty Whores to go.

It is time, - - - - time for a change.

My guess is that after last night’s events Paul and a lot of these other Republican worms are going to realize the need to STFU about this subject.

1. Secure our borders.

2. Enforce Existing Laws.

3. Make sure it is known in Central America that our borders are secure and our immigration laws are being enforced so these people stop endangering their children’s lives by sending them through Mexico.

Can't say precisely this, and nothing more or less, often enough. Never get bogged down with people diverting this issue into race or defining "amnesty," etc. Let "La Raza" be the racists. Their name says it all.

This is my sore-spot with Rand. He's an Open Borders kinda guy, and we have an invasion underway.

Secure the Borders, make me believe it, then we can talk about the millions who are in the legal pipeline.

This is a national security issue, first and foremost.

* Close and seal the Southern US Border, all 2,000 + miles of it.

* Cancel NAFTA.

* Abolish all Federal, State and Local Welfare payments to non-citizens of the USA.

* Block all money transfers to Mexico, or other any Country South of our Southern Border.

* Have lunch.

* After lunch, pass and sign Federal Penalty law to anyone who hires an Illegal Alien Invader, with a fine of $1,000 per day per alien.

* String Concertina Wire Holding-Pen Stockades at 100 mile intervals for the newly captured gotta-ways.

* Be as hostile to Mexicans as the Mexicans have been to the US Marine held and tortured in Prison by the Mexican Guards for the last two months.

* Hire Greyhound Bus Company to transport Illegal Alien Invaders to Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Chain Link Desert Spa near Phoenix, Arizona.

* Have supper.

The only immigration reform needed:
  1. secure the border in a transparently verifiable way;
  2. end the anchor-baby interpretation of the 14th Amendment;
  3. enforce eVerify without exception and with severe penalties;
  4. no government benefits beyond critical emergency care (and that ought to be billed back to the home government); and
  5. NO "Path to Citizenship" - EVER - for anyone who has entered the US illegally.

If any plan has anything to do with anything other than giving back our military bases from the illegal immigrants who are now taking over, then he needs to take a look at what happened in Va yesterday.

He is so tone deaf.

I’m not sure if the USA could afford that if Obama’s actual status is what I suspect it to be. How about right before lunch is served we impeach Eric Holder? This entire issue is about the rule of law and what happens when laws are not enforced.

We aren’t going to get anywhere with a criminal political hack heading the Department of Justice.

Broken immigration system = broken record.

Senator Paul needs to look at what is happening on the southern border NOW as a result of lax immigration enforcement.

Estimates are that some 60,000 to 90,000 young people have been dumped inside the US. By the end of the year, that number could easily be 150,000.

Nothing is happening in Congress or the WH to deter the influx. Without some government action to quell the flow, we might as well expect those numbers to be in the 250,000 range for 2015.

No immigration reform is going to change what is happening. We do NOT need MORE laws; we need ENFORCEMENT of existing laws.

The scary part is that number is just the kids. If you are not going to deport the kids that means the parents and siblings will come so that means at least now another million people coming over.

Rand Paul has turned into a serious disappointment for me.

In DC “reform” is a very obvious euphemism for screwing the American people. And the US Constitution.

Tax reform = more and greater taxes

Immigration reform = amnesty for illegal aliens (they are not immigrants - immigration is legal entry. More Orwellian NewSpeak from elected criminals)

If they do decided to “pass” amnesty, an amendment needs to be added to the bill making it a requirement that the illegals be given a union card PRIOR to being registered to vote DemocRAT. We shouldn’t be importing slave labor for BIG business.

If you’re talking about adjusting the numbers of who receives the prime visas, if you’re talking about taking a good look at the cumbersome process to come here legally, then yes, that’s immigration reform we ought to address. After the borders are secured. But no amnesty — ever. Didn’t the GOP get the message from VA-7 last night?

But then, Republicans have a virtually infinite capacity to learn the wrong lesson.

RE:”You know I like Rand Paul on almost evety subject except immigration. He’s going to end up talking himself right out of the nomination. I’m really only looking a Cruz and Perry as viable choices right now.”

I been getting the impression that Rand has been going warm and fuzzy compassionate and ‘open minded’ because he thinks that it will convince GOP voters that he's electable.

Rand Paul wins 2014 CPAC straw poll, Ted Cruz finishes a distant second(March 8, 2014)

I agree. Paul thinks he will pick up votes if he is pro immigration reform. IMO the problem is he will lose more votes from the GOP base than he will pick up from independents. The only caveat to that is that he does seem popular with the young people so maybe the immigration stance will be a winner for him. He might take the youth vote from Hillary or whoever the Dems run.
