Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) voted against the Senate’s comprehensive immigration reform bill last year, but on Wednesday he plans to “discuss the need for immigration reform.”

Mr. Paul will join former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Partnership for a New American Economy’s monthly series on immigration reform hosted by Grover Norquist.

The only immigration reform needed:

1. secure the border in a transparently verifiable way;
2. end the anchor-baby interpretation of the 14th Amendment;
3. enforce eVerify without exception and with severe penalties;
4. no government benefits beyond critical emergency care (and that ought to be billed back to the home government); and
5. NO "Path to Citizenship" - EVER - for anyone who has entered the US illegally.

I’m not sure if the USA could afford that if Obama’s actual status is what I suspect it to be. How about right before lunch is served we impeach Eric Holder? This entire issue is about the rule of law and what happens when laws are not enforced.

Broken immigration system = broken record.

Senator Paul needs to look at what is happening on the southern border NOW as a result of lax immigration enforcement.

Estimates are that some 60,000 to 90,000 young people have been dumped inside the US. By the end of the year, that number could easily be 150,000.

Nothing is happening in Congress or the WH to deter the influx. Without some government action to quell the flow, we might as well expect those numbers to be in the 250,000 range for 2015.

No immigration reform is going to change what is happening. We do NOT need MORE laws; we need ENFORCEMENT of existing laws.
