(White Cotton)Gloves off: Thad Cochran calls Chris McDaniel a dangerous extremist

I was wrong. I thought for sure the NRSC and Mississippi’s GOP establishment would back off of McDaniel given that he’s the favorite in the runoff. Cochran might keep campaigning, I figured, but it would be a strictly positive campaign for the next few weeks, probably with no attack on McDaniel harsher than the fact that he’s inexperienced. At a minimum, they’d stay away from blaming him for that nasty harassment of Cochran’s wife inside her nursing home. Why frag a guy whom you’ll probably be fighting behind next month?

As I say, I was wrong.

After months of milquetoast statements and letting surrogates do any campaign trash talking, incumbent U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran went on the offensive in Hattiesburg on Tuesday, calling his opponent Chris McDaniel “an extremist” who would hurt Mississippi with indiscriminate cuts to federal spending…

“He said he wouldn’t even vote for disaster assistance for Mississippi,” Cochran said, referring to McDaniel statements early in the race where he demurred on whether he would have supported federal Katrina relief Cochran helped secure. McDaniel later clarified he would have supported the relief spending. One of the Cochran campaign’s earliest ads attempted to make hay over McDaniel’s comments…

“(McDaniel) is trying to indict that kind of power and influence in Washington?” Cochran said. “It would be dangerous to have somebody like him elected.”…

Ok Freepers time to send Chris McDaniel what ever money you can. I bet the GOPe is going to go all out to make sure Thad Cochran does not succumb to another Conservative like Cantor did. Chris will need all our support.

No. I think the sycophants surrounding him as they spoonfeed him his oatmeal wiping his chin in between decided that they need to issue them so they can keep their jobs. Just like some relatives keep their dead parents in the basement so they can keep getting their Social Security checks. No wonder at all, there.

I think we should expect that EVERY Tea Party acronym organization should let loose their floodgates and let the money flow. If they don’t, they are just scammers.

I read that Mitch McConnell is running around Washington getting all the $$ he can for Cochran. We can’t beat them on $$$ but we sure as hell can with votes. David Brat proved that!!

Cochran said. “It would be dangerous to have somebody like him elected.”…

One question. Have you Mr Cochran stated at anytime in the past 5 years that having Obama as President is dangerous?
No?
Then shove that where the sunshine can’t find it..

Maybe Brat needs to go campaign for McDaniel.Make the case that it should not be about money, but rather political substance.

I posted right after the primary that we would soon find out if the GOP
really wants to win the senate by the tone against McDaniel.

It is clear the tone of attacks against McDaniel is a scorched earth
attack.

The GOPe have lied about wanting to take the senate.

As a result, KY conservatives should either stay home or vote for
Grimes to rid ourselves of McConnell. Locality works both ways.
Get rid of McConnell.

You’re absolutely right. McConnell and his minions run the NRSC. They want to take the senate all right, but with those they can control. In MS they want somebody to bend down and kiss Haley Barbour’s ring.

Unfortunately for them, we are wresting control from these types of people. McDaniel is going to win in two weeks and then again in November and they’re very frustrated by that.

No, you vote for McConnel and take a shower afterwards. If Republicans take the Senate, Cruze becomes a WMD against the administration and for the next two years, especially if he runs for President, no Republican, squish or not is going to stop him.

If the rats hold the Senate, expect two more years of Obama’s imperialist policies.that means there will still be Holder, nothing will be done about the IRS and it puts the rats in position for coronating Hillary. And everything Cruz and other conservatives are working for will be ignored.

Get control, then clean house.

I just sent the McDaniel campaign $25.00. If you can afford even $5.00 send it. We have to defeat the GOPe and Thad Cochran. Go Tea Party.

>> Why frag a guy whom you’ll probably be fighting behind next month? <<

What a colossal moron. Since when has any establishment Republican gone down gracefully? Cochran will be calling McDaniel a dangerous extremist throughout the general campaign.

Why frag a guy whom you’ll probably be fighting behind next month?

Because the GOP-e, being the good progressives they are, won't be supporting him next month. They'll be trying to hide their efforts to undermine him.
