Dana Bash on Cantor Loss: 'Sad' That Republicans Now Won't 'Compromise'
NewsBusters ^ | June 11, 2014 | P.J. Gladnick

Sniff! With the stunning Eric Cantor congressional primary loss yesterday, the Republicans are now less willing to "compromise" on such programs as immigration "reform" and other Democrat inspired legislation according to  Dana Bash of CNN who  thinks that's sad. So sad.

Bash dropped even  the slight pretense of non-bias this morning during a CNN New Day report on Cantor's historic loss. She declared it "sad" that the election result now makes it unlikely for  Republicans to act like Democrats. Break out the violins and play an appropriately mournful tune as Bash indulges her sadness:

Shame they BREAK THE LAW when they fight to the bitter end.

Amazing. Opinioneers in the Republicrat party expect Republicans to accept every democrat agenda item seriously and work to temper their zeal to act. It is a perfectly reasonable position to resist any objectionable initiative.

When your instinct tells you to compromise, there is no core principle which you will not agree to bargain away. Democrats never stop trying to advance their agenda. If republicans are always willing to meet in the middle, the line moves ever leftward.

Who's driving the agenda on the Right? Could be the Left - using the old Sun Tzu of imposing your will without having your will imposed upon.

Here, the Titanic is sinking and everybody's running around screaming about the stowaways on board.

The Tea Party and every right-thinking American needs to get focused on the BIG problem: the "silent" coup d'etat of our free constitutional republic by the unconstitutional $4 trillion federal government and the usurpation of the Constitution by the dangerous and traitorous power gathering dictatorship of Barak Obama.

Why is no one talking about this? Is it because no one ELSE is talking about it? Or is because the Left still subtly controls the "talking points" because they run most of the news broadcasts and newspapers?

Who on the Right is going to QUIT PLAYING POLITICAL RING AROUND THE ROSY and start talking about the ONE THING the Left doesn't want to hear talked about: the salvation of America by cutting government by 80% (=$800 billion, still too big but it's a start) and taking down the would be dictator in the White House.

The media idea of what constitutes “compromise” is very odd.

The extremist “liberal reform” position on immigration is presumably to let anybody and everybody in, while putting them on the short path to citizenship and voting.

I would contend the extremist “conservative reform” position on the issue would be to have a massive manhunt and deport all illegal aliens, then provide true border security and jail anyone who hired illegals.

A 50/50 compromise would then be to leave things as they are now, little attempt to secure borders, no real prosecution of those who hire illegals, no attempt at all to track down and deport “non-criminal” illegals.

But for the media, the actual compromise position is viewed as the extremist right position, and “compromise” and reform consists only of movement from there towards the liberal position.

The media narrative follows the Democrat narrative. That the Republicans must do all the compromising. This is brainwashing pure and simple which is fairly easy with our publik skrool edumacation system turning out more dumbed down youths each year who know nothing about American civics and American history. Whose textbooks had five pages on Harriet Tubman and one paragraph on (evil slave holder) George Washington

I think they probably compromise every day. Obama’s true intention is to model the US after North Korea. The fact that he is temporarily accepting less than full blown totalitarian communism is a “compromise”.

Rather than say that RINO politicians are willing to “compromise” with the opposing party, maybe we should see them for what they are: collaborators. People from one side who go over to help the other side win. Which is exactly what RINOs do. “Compromise” sounds so nice and benign, and even sensible in the political arena (especially when done by Republicans - not by Democrats, of course). But politicians like Cantor are not simply being flexible. They are effectively batting for the other team and willing to sell out their own in the process. It is no wonder that there is loud weeping and gnashing of teeth by libs like Dana Bash over the loss of one of their own.

The communists also like the media narrative that the Republicans are “the Party of ‘no.’” As though it’s a bad thing. And just yesterday I saw a news story where their icon, the Potemkin Village capitalist Warren Buffet, said that the the most successful people in the world are the ones who say “No” the most often.

I’d like to see some GOP Congressmen and Senators adopt that Buffet quote on a daily basis, and attribute it to him.
