The day after the Houses No. 2 Republican fell to a primary challenger, Eastern Washington congressional candidates were hoping Wednesday for a boost to knock off the No. 4 Republican.
Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers faces three challengers in the August primary one Republican, one Democrat and one independent. Each thought the defeat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor validated some aspects of their races, which appear to be long-shot bids against the five-term incumbent.
All three will run low-budget, populist races against the House Republican Conference chairwoman, hoping to finish at least second in the primary and then defeat her in a head-to-head contest in November.
It would legalize illegal immigrants, said Horne, a retired engineer and volunteer firefighter. How stupid does she think we are?

Cathy McMorris Rodgers as a possible candidate to replace Cantor? Oh puhleeeez!
She’s a puppet and a potted plant that Boehner drags out and strategically places next to him every time he has some sort of announcement-—and she just stands there with an empty, blank look on her face as the Boehner tanned man makes whatever silly announcement he is making.
“Shes a puppet and a potted plant that Boehner drags out and strategically places next to him every time he has some sort of announcement-”
Didn’t they trot her out to make “The Republican Response” to the SOTU? Your description is very apropos. She should be baking cookies, and that might even be a stretch. WTF is wrong with the GOP voters?
Lynn Jenkins is a RINO but she is not as stupid as Cathy. If they need a token woman.
Ive heard from all sides on the immigration bill, certainly our Kansas Chamber of Commerce, said Representative Lynn Jenkins of Kansas, a member of the House Republican leadership. But I will tell you, a majority of Kansans that I visit with are not as eager. And the power lies with the people, at least in Kansas.
Rodgers is not articulate by any stretch of the imagination. It would be a disaster with her as the leader.
She’s a useless, talentless 3 name fop.
Pass, with prejudice.
WA state's female delegation has that mastered. See Patty Murray for patent pending on potted plant motif.
And Murray has “licensed” that twit from Michigan, Debbie Stabenow! Any of the FNC “newsreaders” would be a welcome change front these harridans, and they are all a whole lot prettier. Now here we are, circling the bowl as a nation, and this is what we have for leaders!
