Michael Graham: What Obama Inherited
The Natural Truth ^ | Thursday, June 12, 2014 | Michael Graham

Posted on 06/12/2014 5:38:09 AM PDT by kristinn

Yes, ObamaCare is a fiscal disaster. Yes, the stimulus was a flop and doubling the national debt is awful. And yes, having the IRS punish citizens for their political beliefs is a new level of abuse unseen under any previous president.

But forget all that. History will declare President Obama’s biggest failure his abandonment of Iraq. It is the biggest, dumbest and most costly foreign policy mistake since World War II. Nothing else is even close.

There are no defenders of President Obama’s idiotic abandonment of an American ally/fledging democracy in the heart of the Middle East. There are only knee-jerk haters of George W. Bush making juvenile “No War For Oil” pseudo-arguments.

President Obama loves to talk about what he “inherited” from President Bush (it’s his second-favorite “I” word, the first, obviously, being “I”), but he rarely uses the word in Iraq. Because what he inherited there was a military victory, a young democracy, a nation with a multi-party and multi-factional government and the potential to grow economically into a powerful regional ally of the US.

What President Obama has given the world is another center of chaos to go along with Syria, Pakistan, North Africa, Ukraine, etc. etc. He took a win and threw it away. Al Qaeda and Iran couldn’t be happier.

He writer must not have received the memo. It is all Bush’s fault.

That is how the Democrats are desperately trying to spin it.

It’s one giant step toward building the Grand Caliphate.

The author doesn’t understand that Obama considers the United States the enemy and is hell bent on destroying the country. The so-called “failures” are “successes” by the way he and his handlers measure things.

It is the biggest, dumbest and most costly foreign policy mistake since World War II.

That's going to take some explaining especially to all of the 'would all be speaking German by now' countries of Europe.

6 years and what has Obama accomplished? Intentional utter destruction of the United State’s economy, reputation and status, and military while empowering the HomoFascists, creating more division and dissension among the races than any other one person ever has in the history of the U.S., while attempting to nullify The Constitution every chance he gets. Add to that there have been so many scandals and lies that he has told that a no other president could even come close. The man has no integrity or character.

the lefties who argued that there was no al Qaeda in Iraq and thus no reason for the US military to be there, have some heavy rewriting to do in Wikipedia

now they will say there WAS no al Qaeda in Iraq but they came there because of George Bush’s “illegal” invasion

notwithstanding the fact that obamas withdrawal of US troops only re-intensified instability, and encouraged al Qaeda to go full on slaughter and aim for Baghdad

Hey, wait, it has not been six years, only five and a half. He can make PLENTY more mischief in the next two and a half years, and short of some physical restraint upon his ability to do return to the Oval Orifice on whatever whim he takes to drop in, will proceed with all undeliberated haste.

But if for some reason the Current Occupant cannot be physically present to fulfill the occupancy of the White Hut, then the Acting President gets to take over. I used to think that Joe Biden was the Current Occupants insurance policy, that would protect him against physical harm by perhaps an assassin, or by forcible constraint like imprisonment or involuntary “civil” commitment to a “medical” facility.

Now Joe isn’t sounding so bad as an alternative.

The Democrat Plan was for the Iraq War to be lost when Bush was President, like Nixon in Viet Nam. It's working out that he Iraq War will be lost under the Democrat Obama. This is not good for the Democrats. It took 12 years for voters to trust the Democrats with foreign policy, '81 to '93. And Bill Clinton had to show how tough he was on Foreign Policy by bombing Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan and an aspirin factory in the Sudan. Much of this was 'Wag the Dog' covered up by the media. But it did erase public concerns about Dem's in charge of foreign policy. Until now.

Is Barack Obama a Republican plant sent in to destroy the Democrat Party?

mistake ...World War II.

That's going to take some explaining...

Having listened to Michael Graham over the years, this seems out of character. Does he really believe this, or is it a case of just saying something really dumb that no-way does he actually mean.

Remembering all that noise from the regime how it had brought the Iraq war to a “responsible close.”

With rabid baboons dressed as jihadis fanning out throughout Iraq, taking over whole cities and beheading anyone in their way.. I’m somehow not seeing the “responsible” part.

Anything and everything Obama does has as its basis exactly that philosophy.

What Obama Inherited:

* His relatives Socialist/Marxist/Anti-Imperialist views.

* His mentor’s (Ayers et. al.) radical views.

* His Pastor’s racist views.

Having a President (and I use the term loosely) with such a background makes for interesting times.

I cannot even begin to comprehend what those who served there are going through.

Heard an interview from Ollie North this morning and he said, suicides will come of it. He said the Iraq veterans with PTSD will be so hopeless, thinking about their best buddies who shed blood and treasure and limbs for the Iraqi people and Americans, will be in so much despair they will be compelled to end it.

The fact that Obama, Holder and Jarrett aren’t in prison by now is a testament to the determined dishonesty of the US news media.

FWIW, my interpretation of his since World War II comment is NOT that World War II was a mistake, it is what we did immediately afterward. The FDR/Truman administration gave away Eastern Europe to the Soviet Union and ensured that the Nationalists lost the China Civil War to the Communists.

Their only real successes were (a)saving Europe from mass starvation, a projected headed by Herbert Hoover, (b)saving West Berlin via the 1947 airlift and (c)putting MacArthur in charge in Japan.

You might also add (d)the Marshall Plan, but all the good which it did was more than undone by Marshall's role in strengthening the Soviet Union by ensuring a Maoist victory in China.

Cannot help wondering if we’re also in store for 2014 version of “Boat People.” Temporary to extended accommodation of refugees is OK, but the available resource for that endeavor might be spread a little thin.

I took him to mean the biggest mistake since the end of WWII (Sept. 2, 1945, to the present).

Arguably allowing the Soviets to have half of Korea as an occupation zone (in return for declaring war on Japan 6 days before Japan agreed to surrender) was a bigger one. But if al-Qaeda gains control of all of Iraq, that could be more damaging over time than having the Communists in control of North Korea.

Nixon inherited a complete screw-up that LBJ didn’t even have the balls to finish, yet he was able to turn it around into something decent...then the democrats came and finished the job of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

To be fair, even WWII could’ve been fought better than it was, considering the nazis were just replaced with the soviets (could Stalin have conquered half of Europe if WWII hadn’t happened?).
