Colorado will begin charging an Obamacare tax next month on all health insurance policies even those obtained through private employers to help prop up the states struggling health care exchange.
...
Republicans have called the Obamacare tax unconstitutional, given that the states constitution requires voters to approve any tax increases, but exchange managers insist its a fee, not a tax.
(Excerpt) Read more at p.washingtontimes.com ...
This rogue agency has no authority to impose this “fee” on services not offered or provided by the State.
More money will never “fix” the broken, bottomless pit, that is Obamacare.
I think I’ll send the state of Colorado a bill for a “fee,” and see what happens.
I guess all that extra pot tax revenue was already spent...
BOHICA!
They only doubled their projected budget.
Nobody robs banks anymore. The thieves just skim some tax money.
Denver and Summit County are filled with vapid, stoned idiots who will keep voting for Rats, but I’m not sure the Rats can keep the state if every decent person abandons the party.
Nothing more than redistribution...Obama’s plan all along. FUBO
John Roberts insisted that it is a tax.
A ‘fee’ is a charge for something you use.
If you don’t use what the ‘fee’ is for, it’s a TAX.....................
Let’s let the USSC (United States Socialist Court) decide. Paging John Roberts
At a tea at his house the year before, Perkins had sat beside Justice Harlan Stone, and he gave her a tip. She had confided her fears that any great social insurance system would be rejected by the court. Not so, he said, and whispered back the solution: The taxing power of the federal government is sufficient for everything you want and need. If the Social Security Act was formulated as a tax, and not a government insurance, it could get through. - p.229; The Chicken Versus the Eagle; The Forgotten Man - Amity Shlaes
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
I can’t imagine this will play well in the Fall elections.
CO’s mindless Lib community is nowhere near as strong as in, say, MA or NY.
Colorado must pay my “You Pissed Me Off” fee. It is a 1% tax on all purchases. It’s totally constitutional and above board because it’s not a tax, it’s a fee.
But hey, they get to smoke pot. So all is kewl...
“Not one dime”
Allow a Colorado native in Denver to correct the statement. The entire state is being overrun by leftists fleeing their failed states in the northeast, Midwest and left coast. These locusts destroyed their home states, then came here and brought their voting habits with them.
As for Coloradans being stoned, so are the same percentages of every other state.
If they're gonna make someone pay, charge the "fee" to people who are using the exchange, like how drivers are charged for using toll roads. But that wouldn't be socialist enough, would it?
Summit use to vote GOP but all the people there are from California and the US Northeast - moved in a few years back.
Well, if it is a fee and not a tax then for those not directly participating in the exchange can legally refuse to pay the fee.
Heh! I wonder how my son and daughter-in-law who voted down the line for the National Socialist Democrats will react to this.
He’s my son and I love him and his family but better not hear any bitching about this from them because it might break the self-imposed ban I laid on myself concerning political discussions.
