Rand Paul : Secure the Border!
http://www.breitbart.com/ ^ | 6/12/14 | Rand Paul

Posted on 06/12/2014 12:21:18 PM PDT by Chickensoup

I am for immigration reform because I am against allowing 12 million more illegal immigrants into our country. If we do nothing, 12 million more illegal immigrants will come. We must be in favor of reform—smart reform that starts with border security.

Characterizing that position as "amnesty" is simply untrue.

What we have now is a lawless border. Current policy is a beacon for more illegal immigrants. The Obama administration’s lawless executive orders legalizing people who came here illegally will only encourage more illegal immigration—unless we act now with real, strong, verifiable border security.

No need for “reform.” Just enforce the laws already on the books.

Actually I think we need to reform it and make it much tougher.

He stated that no other reforms would proceed until the border is secured and verified by Congress and not the President. It would be verified every year, also by Congress.

Anything at all except deportation of illegals is amnesty. The border problem is in the White Hut, Congress and the Senate.

As America runs like hell away from Iraq and Afghanistan, there is no reason why the ARMED drones cannot be used to patrol our borders and take them off of sniffing around American taxpayers. JMO.

He gets himself into trouble playing word games when all he has to say is this and it would satisfy anyone who might ever think of voting for him.

Never going to get illegals out of the country as long as the illegals are in the white hut.

Fine that he doesn’t want more to come in, but what does he propose to do with the millions who are already here? If it’s anything other than arrest and deportation, then sorry, that’s amnesty.

I’m really tired of politicians peeing on our legs and telling us it’s raining.

Rand Paul is all over the map. He’s trying to be all things to all people and it’s getting tiring. We need the consistency of a Ted Cruz.

This is interesting. When anti-Rand Paul advocates excerpt from RPs statements, they sound just awful. But when RP sets out his total view on the issue, it's okay.

I don't know if Rand Paul is presidential material; on some things he seems too conciliatory and non-conservative. Nobody can disagree though that he does one very good thing. He takes support away from the mainstream pols in both parties who created the mess we're in. And he's not afraid to speak out.

There has been amnesty creep in that almost any immigration change is viewed as amnesty.

The Speaker clearly enunciated the problem....... border control. Even if there is strong border control in the proposed law, the President will certainly ignore those border control parts he dislikes.

That means.....no immigration legislation.

The nation is in limbo till Obama is gone
