US President Barack Obama declared on Thursday that short-term military actions will have to be taken in Iraq, following the take-over by an Al Qaeda break-off Islamist terrorist group over large portions of the country.
Reuters reported that Obama said he is looking at "all options" as far as helping the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, noting "I don't rule anything out," when asked whether the United States is considering drone strikes or any other action to stop the insurgency.
Speaking at the White House while meeting Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot, Obama said there will be "short-term immediate actions that need to be done militarily in Iraq," and that the US is prepared to take action to defend its security interests.

Active Duty ping.
Here we go again.
Obama will just stall and stall, like he always does..and DO NOTHING!
The idiot gave it all away now are we going to have a third battle for Falluja? And the dims have tne nerve to criticize Bush.
Send in the Democrat Division with their leader Howitzer Harry Reid.
At the same time he’s demanding money for some kind of anti terrorist fund so we don’t have to send troops.
The idiot never means what he says.
Please G-d don’t allow this moron to send our troops back over there - again!
CAPITAL IDIOT...and I agree.
Faculty Lounge rewind!
What about the fact that Obama’s inaction and giving up in Iraq was the partial cause of this (along with his administration’s startling and evil tacit [If not outright] support of Muslim Jihadists)??
Six years to take and secure it, coasting and ignoring for five years. 5000 allied dead and thousands of wounded.
Pissed away in ten days of inattention and absolutly clueless planning and intelligence.
Irag becomes the oil funded Jihadist state for the Sunnis and the Shia will go to war with them.
Obama and his administration are worse than incompetant.
Have John Kerry accuse them of “19th Century Behavior.” They’ll be retreating in shame by the next morning.
Yeah, Obama. Terrorists are defeated in the short term. Exactly.
Didn’t he already say he’d send in the drones...? Oh, you mean the expensive kind...? Oh, you mean the non-human kind....? Dammit, it’s hard to tell them apart! OK. He meant the kind with computer guidance systems and such. There. Harry’s safe.
Just like Korea and Task Force Smith. It’ll be over in no time.
/Dems at war.
The first test of our all new LGBT military.
Exactly. After surrendering, he thinks we can take it back “short term”???
We should never have left (remember how long we were in Germany and Japan) but since we did, there’s no way to take it back “short term.” In any case, the Iranians are already coming in.
Way to go, Bambi! Skittles and unicorns. Although personally, I believe it goes beyond that and he’s on the side of the Islamists.
Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. She really doesn’t get the sense.
I once took short-term action in a bar. A large biker jogged my elbow. I slapped him once, and then sat down to continue nursing my beer. That was all I remember until my wife came and visited me in the hospital, five months later (OK. It never happened, just illustrative parable).
Putting up those 8 lb weights was very manly.
He’s looking at “all options”, is he? Like passing the buck, as usual?
How short term can it be if the Iraqi forces are still running away even when the odds are wildly in their favor?
Little bastard barry boy’s friends need the heavy equipment our military is leaving behind in Iraq, to destroy the Regime in Syria. They got the missiles to deal with air cover, now they want the heavy armor. Little barry bastard boy is equipping his army of jihad.
Depends on which side we're going to help.
So, what will be Hillary’s position?
Maybe it’s time to draw a “red line” ... or maybe a ‘bright line”???
The Obama red line has become a maze.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
In Obama World:
The Sunni IA is running away. There’re plenty of Shia IA who will not fraternize with the Sunni ISIL. Iraqi Shia have their own agenda and to them this heralds a time of Payback.
The ignoramus might be able to do something with air strikes while these terrorists are moving by the highways, but once they’re fighting in the cities the only thing that can stop them will be boots on the ground, and there hasn’t been much indication far that the Iraqi forces can or will do that.
But that opportunity if probably already lost.
LOL....that’s showing ALL of his strength, too.
Weren’t they at the WH earlier this week supporting the Hero of Benghazi and Bergdog?
I don't know what weaponry the terrorists have, but all I've seen in reports is pickups probably with some 50 caliber machine guns and RPGs and small arms. One would think the Iraqis have enough weaponry to defeat them, but...
Obama noted that it seems something has gone awry...”kinetically”...in the...”overseas contingency operation”.
The Obama Administration will label their response a “tentative preemption intervention” or such.
Meanwhile, has anyone considered that perhaps Obama was sandbagged in Syria. Responding to ever more requests for arms, training and yes money that was stockpiled by the rebels for this ISIS/ISIL operation...???
That’s the $492 million dollar question it seems.
It would make sense for him to have most of our best and brightest soldiers over there again dying and fighting and slowly taking back Iraq. That way, they wouldn’t be causing problems on American soil in, say, about two years.. around November 2016 to January 2017.
Did you see this Nachum?
Enjoy - From Feb 2010:
BIDEN: “I am very optimistic about Iraq. I think its gonna be one of the great achievements of this administration. Youre gonna see 90,000 troops come marching home by the end of the summer. Youre gonna see a stable Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government Ive been impressed by how theyve been deciding to use the political process rather than guns to settle their differences.
This was Biden’s comment February 11, 2010.
Yep saw it and put it on Twitter too.
They just look so stupid now, it is just blowing up.
Do not allow Obama to deflect attention from Obamacare. We must walk and chew gum at the same time.
I like how he is using what is happening in Iraq as cover to sneak Bergdahl back into the US in the middle of the night...
From a few photos, it looks like the Iraqis had some tanks and the ISIS terrorists had pickups and 50 caliber machine guns. This thing looks bad from every angle. I guess we'll learn more about the details in the next few days.
