LinkedIn’s own workforce is still too heavily white and male and needs to become more diverse, the company admitted Thursday.

LinkedIn said 61 percent of its employees 5,400 employees worldwide are men and 39 percent are women.

Of its employees based in the U.S., 53 percent are white, 38 percent are Asian, 4 percent Hispanic and 2 percent black.

Its Asians who are severely OVER-represented!

Probably evidence of merit based hiring, instead of affirmative action.

It’s a site where you post your curriculum vitae

Isn't that like telling the world you're looking for a job?

Might be OK if you're unemployed, but if I spot someone looking for a job, I might hire his replacement then let him go. Or at the very least, not waste raises and bonus money on him.

Except you can’t tell the difference if 99% of the workforce is on there.

LinkedIn likes to claim that they have millions of profiles. However, there are about 60,000 profiles of people who say they work for my company...and I’ve only got 10 employees.

Being white and male in today’s America is like being Jewish in Hitler’s Germany in 1937.

There is a storm on the horizon.
This is not diversity, it is white hatred and envy.

In IT, people are hired because of ability.

38 percent are Asian

I think there is your racial disparity right there. When I was job hunting, I would get phone call after phone call from pushy, hyperaggressive Asians trying to get you on low-benefit contract work for them. It was hard to understand them with their thick accents and the only way to end a call with most of them was to simply hang up the phone. They simply would not accept a polite "no, I am not interested" as an answer.

Not if all your peers and superiors are already on there themselves.
