Their 9/11 Role - The Taliban Five are even worse than you’ve heard.
The Weekly Standard ^ | June 13, 2014 | THOMAS JOSCELYN

One of the five senior Taliban leaders transferred to Qatar in exchange for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl played a key role in al Qaeda’s plans leading up to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Mohammad Fazl, who served as the Taliban’s army chief of staff and deputy defense minister prior to his detention at Guantánamo, did not have a hand in planning the actual 9/11 hijackings. Along with a notorious al Qaeda leader, however, Fazl did help coordinate a military offensive against the enemies of the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan the day before. And Osama bin Laden viewed that September 10 offensive as an essential part of al Qaeda’s 9/11 plot.

The 9/11 Commission found that the hijackings in the United States on September 11, 2001, were the culmination of al Qaeda’s three-step plan. First, on September 9, 2001, al Qaeda assassinated Northern Alliance commander Ahmed Shah Massoud in a suicide bombing. Massoud’s death was a major gift to the Taliban because he was their chief rival and still controlled parts of the country. The assassination was also intended to weaken opposition to the Taliban and al Qaeda within Afghanistan before the United States could plan its retaliation for the most devastating terrorist attack in history. The Northern Alliance did, in fact, play a role in America’s response.

The following day, September 10, al Qaeda and the Taliban took their second step.

I heard Oliver North on a radio program the other day say that Bergdahl was held by the Haqqani network and not the Taliban. If there was a demand for a prisoner swap it would have involved Haqqani members and NOT Taliban. North claimed that the only thing the captors wanted was $100,000 and the issue of a prisoner swap was actually initiated by the Obama administration.

If this is true these are the most awful, despicable and damnable actions taken by this regime.

Yeah like my brother says it’s a perfect storm that developed: We have an Islamic enemy agent in the White house at the same time that Congress is unwilling to do anything about it, so you have this nut running amok like a bull in a China shop absolutely obliterating every single last thing related to this country. I blame it on the low IQ low info voters who put this punk and this Congress into office in the first place: Every single congressman, Senator that is quiet about this punk ass needs to be removed from office ASAP because they are just as culpable. This is not about party lines, this about our country being attacked and destroyed by an Islamic enemy agent who should have never been elected into office in the first place.

The Wikileaks doc mentions the Haqqanis just wanted cash early on.

My guess is that Obama & Company brought up the Obama 5 as part of the deal just to empty Gitmo. They’ve already said they see the Taliban as ‘part of the fabric’ of society in that region.

General observation: Why is it remotely logical to expect a hero when people have screamed for lesser evils?

With rare exception we elect the lowest common denominator. Last election was filled with cries of lesser evil/no matter what. And now people expect heroes? NOW people wait for Lancelot, the charger and the gleaming armor?

We were told by our own that purists were bad and now people want the pure hero to rise. We were told principle did not matter and now that it’s dark, we want the light of principle to shine brightly.

Actions have consequences. The next time Romney or his clone appears on the ballot, folks should remember that.

I seriously question if ANYONE in The Regime was aware of this.

There are people in the CIA and Pentagon and State who know, because it's their job to know. Whether that knowledge was ever seen by the national security "dudes" in the WH is another question. However, even if it was known, I doubt it would have troubled Bammy greatly, or have caused him to act differently.

I’d like to know who is going to be held accountable if any of these five kills, or becomes part of a plot to kill americans.

That would be the fault of George W. Bush, the Koch brothers, Halliburton and the TEA Party.

Any questions?

Bin Laden and the Taliban were linked in 2001. Bin Laden was, for a while, a leader in their organization, something I think Obama and his cronies have forgotten.
