I guess I just don’t understand the procedurals: why is there a slate to vote for? Why can’t our reps just WRITE IN who they want as speaker?
I’d have absolutely no qualms about joining and support a Constitutional or Conservative party, but how long would it realistically take to build it up to the point where it can defeat both the Democrat AND Republican parties? Time is of the essence here and I fear we don’t have much left, given the fast track to hell that the Marxist Kenyan, evil Dems, and GOP establishment are currently taking this nation.
-——Why cant.....-——
The House can do pretty much what ever the majority wants.
They have developed procedures over long periods of time that do the job and are satisfactory to the majority.
Two favored conservative sons have dropped out.
We don’t know and may never know what they received in lieu of the opportunity to run for majority leader. We do not know if some advantage to the conservative agenda was gained.
In my view, any small gain in power or capability by the conservative coalition is good.
An excellent point, to which I don't have even a ballpark answer. My only thought is, do we even have the time to work and change within the GOP? I can tell you I've personally been trying to do so for 20 some years now, and we've not only NOT made any meaningful advances, we've lost ground in a lot of cases.
