It’s no secret that conservative titans Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge are close friends. But it’s always interesting to see the latter come out of his elusive shell to make a public appearance, especially so with Coulter; and even more so when it’s at a major sporting event like game four of the NBA Finals.

I’d love to have the advertising commission from his site or the royalties from her books, though.
Yeah, that would be pretty nice. Drudge I bet does really well in that regard.

I think you missed my point. Yes, some of us can see through some of these folks. But for everyone that "knows" that Coulter is a sham conservative and Levin is the real deal, there is someone that "knows" that Levin is a sham and Coulter is the real deal.

Regardless of what a small minority of true blue conservatives believe, Drudge and Coulter and Levin and Savage and Rush and O'Reilly have been dubbed the official conservative opposition. The vast majority of Americans who have any clue about politics agree.

Is it the case that we're just being had by entertainers who know how to yank our chains? Or is it the case that they are performing a job by helping to out conservatives?

Maybe I need to take off my tinfoil hat, but either we are officially being had, or it is the case that everyone that becomes rich and famous in America becomes decadent.

Either Rush and Drudge and Coulter were phonies from the get-go or they became phonies over time.

If they were phonies from the get-go then how is it that we never get a true conservative to represent us in the media?

If they all became phonies over time then what does that say about our future if everyone is corruptible, not just a little bit, but corruptible absolutely?

Even if we ignore these pundits and just elect "good people" into office, it now seems that they will all necessarily become decadent and evil.

Look what happened to Norquist and DeLay and Reed and ...

Maybe they were all phonies from the start, but we all thought they were the greatest thing since sliced bread. Then one-by-one they became more interested in their own agendas than in the future of America.

Even now there are freepers that support DeLay. Yes he won his court case, but the stuff he did with Abramoff and Reed and Norquist is unacceptable.

What will happen to Rand or Cruz or whomever we support if they will necessarily become decadent when they rise to power?

Just something to consider.

She keeps her private life private. I’ve seen her in person enough to witness how she generates chemistry. Believe me, she’s very straight.

Ann’s ideology is VERY conservative. Her problem is that her attempts at pragmatism have been terrible misguided. But there is a huge difference between a conservative who attempts pragmatism and someone who believes in Marxian or Keynesian economics, but poses as a conservative to get elected: For instance, if Bush believed in conservatism, why would he “sacrifice” his conservative beliefs for the good of the country, like he said he did during the recession? A true conservative believes liberalism harms the nation!

For whatever reason, Ann believes Romney and Christie are conservatives who have merely feigned liberalism to get elected in blue states. I believe that’s foolish, but it’s hardly a hidden agenda: she openly praises Nixon to this day, even though everyone knows how liberal he was.

They are watching another “Spurricane”. “This is the way we move. You didn’t know it. Now you do.” A lyric from Langhorne Slim’s song, THE WAY WE MOVE, keeps going through my head as some are continually “surprised” by Spurs’ performance.

I’m surprised at the very numerous deleted postings here. All the enforced “Time Outs”. What is it about these two patriots that makes a conservative start frothing at the mouth and throwing shoes at your own laptop? Doesn’t sound like these posters are having a “beautiful day in the neighborhood’ moment.

Nobody is perfect, but they are mostly on our side. Yes, there is a self-serving aspect to all they do, but so what, of such inclinations capitalism is made. What first shocked me was just to see a recent, normal looking photograph of Matt at all. Every pic I see of him looks to be about ten years old. I has started to wonder if he had become The Elephant Man (no pun intended about the GOP).

Where is it written that former Rock'n'Roll disc jockeys are to be annointed as political philosophers?

The job of talk radio is to sell 35-59-year old white men stuff like Sleepnumba Beds, Gold Bars, and Security Software. They are fabulous at it.

OTOH, our broadcast heroes seem to have no effect on turnout for elections. In fact, by preaching anti-Obama despair, they may even have a negative impact on turnout.

But I don't want to be negative. I have learned so much from them! Obama is a bad guy! Who knew?

Why were so many posts deleted? Including my #20? Nobody can challenge coulter’s conservative credentials? Nothing inappropriate in terms of language or content, but the post gets taken out. It's not the first time either.

FR should be careful not to fall into the trap of inhibiting the free exchange of ideas so as to attain your own political goals. You not only damage the integrity of the site, but it's bad for business.

I take it you're an ann coulter fan. Hey - we're all proud of you; many adolescents are. But she needs to stand on her own two feet like the rest of us.

Re: post 34

Does FR promote conservative values like God, country, and the Constitution? Or does Free Republic insulate some so as not to expose their non-conservative ways?

Is that ethical? Is that proper? How will that add value to this website?
