Iraq: A Sunni-Shia Holy War To Commence In Baghdad?
Breitbart ^ | 13 Jun 2014 | by JORDAN SCHACHTEL

Baghdad looks to be the first place where Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) fighters meet serious resistance on their blitzkrieg through Iraq.

However, this has not stopped the Al Qaeda splinter group’s forces from announcing their intended goals. In a video publicly released Thursday night, the jihadi fighters were seen shouting, “Towards Baghdad!”

ISIL’s Twitter page said the group had executed 1,700 Shia Iraqi soldiers as of late Thursday. The group’s social media page proudly displayed an image of a decapitated head, tweeting, “this is our football” with the hashtag #WorldCup.

Iraq’s Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani, the country’s most senior Shia cleric, called upon his fellow Shiites to take up arms and defend Baghdad from the Sunni ISIL insurgents. "Citizens who are able to bear arms and fight terrorists, defending their country and their people and their holy places, should volunteer and join the security forces to achieve this holy purpose," said Sistani’s spokesman during Friday prayers.

Iran Revolutionary Guard soldiers and their Quds special forces unit have reportedly moved into Iraq, readying their troops to defend the pro-Iranian government of Shia Prime Minister Maliki against the Sunni ISIL terrorist group.

It’s been along time in coming, although I’m guessing Iran wants to keep its powder dry.

Great Intel failure of US to see this attack coming or another case of Obama missing the briefing?

Meanwhile Herr Obozo and his Wookie have other important plans!

Amid Foreign and Domestic Crises, Obama Plans to Fundraise and Golf This Weekend

The Iraqi government is pleading for help from the U.S. as ISIS militants close in on Baghdad; Syria is still in the grips of war; veterans are dying from long wait times at the VA; and we’ve got a humanitarian crisis going on at the Southwest border.

With all this at the forefront, you’d think the president would work tirelessly to address these problems. Alas, he’ll be doing what he does best this weekend: fundraising and golfing.

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama should land at Palm Springs International Airport at about 6 p.m. Friday, straight from a visit to the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. Saturday, they’ll jump over to Laguna Beach for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, followed by the commencement address to UC Irvine’s Class of 2014 at Angel Stadium, which wraps up at 1 p.m.

That puts the Obamas back in the desert at about 2 p.m. Saturday. They will stay for Father’s Day, before flying home to Washington, D.C., mid-morning on Monday. It’s unclear if their daughters, Malia and Sasha, will tag along.

What is Obama’s plan here in the Coachella Valley? Presumably a short vacation, and likely a round of golf or two – though the details remain fuzzy.

Priorities.

The policy geniuses in the administration has been watching the ISIS mass for weeks, so they say.

I'm not real keen on sending Americans into that sewer again but a few dozen drone attacks on large groups of smelly Islamists would've been kinda fun.

I think Iran’s military is just as useless as Iraq’s is

And that's what will make it so drawn-out and bloody. A lot of factionalism, reliance on clans or religious ties, lack of discipline, lack of coordination, etc...

When holy wars collide!!!!!
When the Shiite end times scenario collides with the Sunni end times

Will the Twelfth Imam climb out of his well in time to make the scene?
Some Mahdi on Mahdi action!
Will the nukes fly?

Iran will eventually win. They almost took Iraq the last time until we got involved.

They can’t be like us? FINE, let us become more like them:

Let us intervene only by drone on EITHER side, at only the levels and frequency that that ensures both sides to continue, bloodily on.

Let it go on whatever length generates the cheapest oil and maximizes ammo sales and martyr/virgin introductions.

Top logistics priority? Steady popcorn supply.

Sunni-Shi’ite sectarian violence is also a foundation of the violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

There is vast potential for a regional conflagration with anyone (within the region) not clearly aligned facing the prospect of choosing sides or facing the prospect of becoming collateral damage in the aftermath.

While this does not necessarily have to spill outside the region, major disruption of oil supplies would either force intervention or cause major disruption. The potential for adventurism by opportunistic third parties (Russia, China, North Korea) is obviously being explored already.

Add in the massive distraction for European populations of the World Cup (think Olympics x 100) and the ever-absent figure of the Nonentity in Chief, and you’ve got a nice little armageddon scenario in the making. Mahdi appearances a guaranteed bonus as Shi’ites (who expect him) are likely to be on the losing side at least initially.

Biblical prophecy narrative now moves to 11:57 and ticking as rivers of blood flow around ancient Babylon and other places very familiar to students of prophecy.
