(SNIP) Immigration laws are the only laws that are discussed almost entirely in terms of what can be done to help those who have broken the law. Some want to help a little and some want to help a lot. But amnesty lite is still amnesty.
Some people seem to think that amnesty is not amnesty if you throw in requirements for citizenship. Amnesty is not some esoteric concept. It means that you are not going to be punished for breaking the law -- and that simply brings laws into contempt. Denying citizenship is not a punishment because crossing the border illegally does not entitle you to citizenship. Providing a legal status short of citizenship is not punishment either.

All of this talk and maneuvering is just a diversion from the fact that the intention is to allow criminals who have broken our laws and are here illegally to stay here. It doesn’t matter what you call it. It doesn’t matter how ‘conditional’ you make it - it is still amnesty, regardless of the hoops they have to jump through. They are criminals.

Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) suggested that until Congress passes sweeping amnesty legislation, "every institution in America" should find ways to ignore or work around federal immigration laws. He also said that President Barack Obama's Deferred Action program was the first step in implementing more amnesty programs.
Testifying before a Senate Subcommittee hearing in Chicago on "Immigrant Enlistment" that Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) chaired, Gutierrez said that "every institution in America, including our military, must work around the inability of our federal government and the U.S. House of Representatives to fix our immigration system." He also pushed the Navy and Marines to allow U.S. citizens who are married to illegal immigrants to enlist at a hearing in which Durbin called on the Pentagon to start enlisting DREAMers.
Gutierrez, one of the most vocal pro-amnesty legislators, has repeatedly called on Obama to flout the nation's immigration laws even more and act unilaterally to give amnesty to more illegal immigrants, including the families of those offered temporary amnesty. "DACA [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] is an important first step in implementing modern immigration policies that reflect our values and strengthen our nation," he said. Gutierrez and his C/H/C co-conspirators need to be exposed. We need to determine where Gutierrez and the C/H/C are getting their orders and with whom they are colluding. Gutierrez outlines treacherous activities which are significant national security threats......which serve to undermine the US' sacrosanct rule of law. These sub rosa activities acts correspond with conniving, decrepit Third World countries' calculated plans to weaken and subjugate the US to their evil demands.
Gutierrez and his co-conspirators are a national security threat and present a clear danger to law-abiding US citizens. Many illegal are hardened criminals w/ convictions for: (1) drunk or drugged driving, (2) aggravated assault, (3) flight escape, (4) pedaling dangerous drugs, (5) vehicle theft, (6) kidnapping, (7) sexual assault, and, (8) homicide.
The 36,007 criminal released by ICE in 2013 were encumbered w/ about 88,000 convictions.

Having some nice 5 point plan where we’d really like to “build the fence first”, doesn’t mean anything in this environment.
There is no “immigration reform” in this scenario, because that would entail negotiating with a party as disingenuous as the devil.
So, go ahead and get Raul Labrador elected as #2, take the Senate in November, get Ted Cruz elected in 2016, and THEN we can discuss immigration reform.
