President Obama, appearing emboldened after his recent move to cut carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants, on Saturday ridiculed members of Congress who deny climate change or plead scientific ignorance as an alibi for avoiding an inconvenient truth.
Speaking in gleefully sarcastic terms to a commencement ceremony at the University of California, Irvine, Mr. Obama likened those who deny climate change to people who would have told John F. Kennedy, at the dawn of the space program, that the moon “was made of cheese.”
He saved his most scathing words for lawmakers who say they are not qualified to judge the issue because they are not scientists. These people, the president said, recognize the truth but will not utter it for fear of being “run out of town by a radical fringe that thinks climate science is a liberal plot.”
“I’m not a scientist either,” Mr. Obama told this young audience, “but we’ve got some good ones at NASA. I do know the overwhelming majority of scientists who work on climate change, including some who once disputed the data, have put the debate to rest.”

My daughter worked the event for UCI and said many attendees did not appreciate the partisan political attacks. It was supposed to be a commencement, not a DNC rally. This guy is pathetic.
Why would anyone assign any credibility to anything such a person says?

I saw an earlier thread on the same subject and the same thought passed through my mind. The graduating class at UCI would have more intelligence gathered in one place in one day than he encounters on an annual basis with all his slimy friends and appointees. Those kids (majority foreign which makes them minority students) are dead serious about their educations and can run circles around the Ivy League types.
That's absolutely correct and proof in and of itself of the fraud of the whole "idea" of AGW.
The guy is a disaster at everything he does so that gives him credibility. Perhaps he can give one piece of irrefutable evidence to prove it isn’t a fraud to expand Marxism?

The composition of the Moon is, like Human Caused Catastrophic Climate Change, a testable hypothesis that can be verified by examination of the evidence.
We can look at the global warming evidence using science and discover that, as a theory, it is as full of holes as Swiss lunar rocks, um, cheese.
People who insist AGW is real are flat-earth anti science politicians.
No doubt they would also like to commit them to gulags to "straighten them out" and psychiatric wards for "treatment" and will do so when they get a chance.
Their language may change but the Marxist underneath never does.

On the bright side, the mere fact that he has to again attack anyone who doesn’t believe the AGW meme suggests that the anti-global-warming is getting to him - else why would he bother?
And always personal insults - he never addresses the factual inconsistencies (no warming for the last 17 years, 3 ice ages that all warmed up before cars & industry, etc.) - another sign he’s panicking.
Obama and his writers don’t care that this is a graduation ceremony and not DNC event.
