Republican congressional primary candidate Niger Innis of Nevada lost his bid to represent the 4th Congressional district of the Silver State, but he questions the outcome because of the number of votes received by a candidate who did no campaigning.(SNIP) Hardy defeated the tea party candidate by 10 percentage points. The Nevada assemblyman received 43 percent of the vote, Innis received 33 percent, Mike Monroe captured 22 percent of the vote, and Carlos Poliak won 2 percent.

Monroe is a handyman and has been all over the district. Some said it was because he had the most ordinary sounding name against Niger Innis and Cresent Hardy.

Innis wasn’t that great a candidate. He formulated his Tea Party immigration plan with some consultation with Jeb and Rubio. Horsford only got 50% last time but 8% voted third party.

How can someone ‘win’ when almost 60% voted against them.

We need to kill these open primaries and ‘winner takes all’ process where someone like ‘frontrunner Mitt’ can control the lead with only 30% of the people wanting him.

Unbelievable. This story reads like a badly-written parody.

Here are the high points:

First, he claims Monroe is a complete unknown, but according to the article, Monroe actually ran for congress TWICE BEFORE.

Second, when “proving” that nobody actually voted for Monroe, Innis says:
“we’ve done a survey of a lot of our supporters and a lot of Crescent’s supporters and no one is aware of ever voting for this guy,”

Like, why would YOUR supporters, or Hardy’s supporters, be aware of voting for Monroe? It’s the people who did NOT support you and Hardy that voted for Monroe.

Third, he apparently believes that if the media isn’t on your side, you don’t exist and can’t get votes:
“the media . . . treated the race really as a one-on-one race between myself”

Fourth, he seems to imply that republicans wouldn’t vote for a black man, as if race should matter in an election:
“this 52-year-old black gentleman, who looks like he’s a Rastafarian,”

Lastly, logically this makes no sense. He seems to be suggesting that either democrats crossed over to vote for Monroe, or that someone actually stuffed the ballot box for Monroe. NEITHER of those two things would have made a BIT of difference in the race. If you eliminated all the votes for Monroe, Hardy would still have beaten Innis. The only way a 3rd-party candidate hurts the LOSER of a race is if that candidate takes votes away from the loser. And Innis never suggests that Monroe appealed to Innis supporters, in fact he said none of the people who supported him voted for Monroe.

And it’s not like they would confuse Innis for Monroe on the ballot, or confuse Innis for a 52-year-old black rastafarian.

This article was good for a laugh.

Cresent Hardy. Just a regular big spending amnesty lite supporting NV RINO like pretty much all of them.
