The Department of Defense has disbursed some funds to universities so that scientists might study the dynamics of civil unrest — and how the U.S. military might best respond.
It’s called the “Minerva Research Initiative,” and it’s a program that was kicked off in 2008 to “improve DoD’s basic understanding of the social, cultural, behavioral and political forces that shape regions of the world of strategic importance to the U.S.,” The Guardian reported.

Those individuals targeted for questioning include political activists and members of non-governmental organizations — something that The Guardian pointed to as potential for concern.

Minerva is the Greek goddess of wisdom. Perhaps the government feels that when the American people understand what the government has been doing, the American people will shun their evil government. The politicians have a fear that the people will turn to wisdom and fear of the lord. The best that the secular humanists can do is place their faith in Minerva.

Prioritizing Climate Change for Policy Makers:
Dr. Daniel CHIU considered the 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review to be an acknowledgement by the US leadership of the existence of climate security risks. What the leadership needed now were risk-benefit scenarios as part of a decision making tool.
The Use of the Military in the Context of Climate Change:
Dr. CHIU, in response, referred to the analogy, arguing that “the rabbit is often very complex”. For the DoD it was a challenging task to strike a balance between reactive (traditional) and proactive (new) capabilities and operations that need to be properly and timely planned and executed. Thus, in a more complex, globalised and less predictable security environment “the rabbit needs to be shot with a shotgun” at times. Dr. Chiu also emphasised that assisting partners and allies in building capacities and facilitating deeper cooperation was a very important aspect of the responsibilities of the DoD in order to handle the increasing levels of complexity in security issues.
Future of NATO Operations in connection with Climate Change:
Dr. CHIU recommended to better align the planning requirements for operations (predominantly short-term) and resource management (predominantly long-term) and link the analytical data in order to optimise the use of assets and expensive resources. This included bringing planning processes of Allies together.
Conclusions:
Dr. CHIU concluded by arguing in favour of NATO becoming a facilitator of inter-disciplinary thinking and cross-cutting discussions that could help to change the mind-set and to raise the visibility of climate change security risks across a broad range of civil and military personnel.

The dems had planned on using Abu Grahab(SP?) prison and the Nick Berg video as propaganda and a symbol of to quote Charles Barron, “The plight of the black man in Americas prisons”. Nick Berg getting his head cut off ruined the dems propaganda.
Doc that were captured let it be known Osama bin Laden also wasn’t happy about this bunch cutting off peoples heads as it was also hurting al Qaida’s PR campaign.
The bunch that cut off Nick Bergs head are also the same bunch that had a terrorist attack planned for NYC in 2005.
The leader at the time of the attempted bombing, Zarqui(SP?), didn’t get permission from bin Laden to carry out the attack and al Qaida went after him. Shortly after is when the US Military, with the help of al Qaida, turned Zarqui(SP?) into hamburger.
When this clown heading this bunch said he would see them in NY, he meant they would return and finish the job they started and didn’t finish.
Our lefty friends have a history of collaborating with this ISIS bunch, I don’t have a doubt they are doing it now.
