Iran sends troops into Iraq to aid fight against Isis militants
The Guardian ^ | Saturday, June 14, 2014 | Martin Chulov

Iran has sent 2,000 advance troops to Iraq in the past 48 hours to help tackle a jihadist insurgency, a senior Iraqi official has told the Guardian.

The confirmation comes as the Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, said Iran was ready to support Iraq from the mortal threat fast spreading through the country, while the Iraqi prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, called on citizens to take up arms in their country's defence.

Addressing the country on Saturday, Maliki said rebels from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isis) had given "an incentive to the army and to Iraqis to act bravely". His call to arms came after reports surfaced that hundreds of young men were flocking to volunteer centres across Baghdad to join the fight against Isis.

The Iraqi official said 1,500 basiji forces had crossed the border into the town of Khanaqin, in Diyala province, in central Iraq on Friday, while another 500 had entered the Badra Jassan area in Wasat province overnight. The Guardian confirmed on Friday that Major General Qassem Suleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' elite Quds Force, had arrived in Baghdad to oversee the defence of the capital.

If Iran wants help from the USA ... it should give ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to Iran. Anything that helps Iran is simply very bad for the USA. Let the Shias and Sunnis kill each other off in the thousands and hundreds of thousands. I'll simply pass the popcorn and watch!

I worry that Obama will use this as an excuse to strike Syria and then Iran.

Russia will not stand idly by this time like they had to when we struck Serbia.

Obama is incompetent to deal with this mess.

WW3 here we come.

No, I actually meant ... IRAN ... as in the Persian Mullahs ...

Quoting from the article ...
“In Iran, Rouhani raised the prospect of Teheran cooperating with its old enemy Washington to defeat the Sunni insurgent group – which is attempting to ignite a sectarian war beyond Iraq’s borders.”

No ... in this example the correct way to portray it to show what I mean, it would be like the USA allying with Hitler and the Third Reich to defeat the USSR, thereby making it easier for Hitler to impose his will on the rest of the world.

Allying with Iran is like allying with Hitler!

One was “doing it” and the other was hoping and hanging on by a thread.

Iran IS the world’s LARGEST EXPORTER of Islamic Terrorism, bar none ... and for decades. That’s an accomplished fact and they are extending it further, as we speak - with nuclear weapons - thanks to Obama and his comic-book caricature of a President.

If we were to remove IRAN - alone - from the world scene, in an instant, Islamic Terrorism in the world would be reduced immediately by 90%!

5,000 Americans lost their lives in vain doing an impossible mission (bringing civilization to the Middle East). An immense destruction of lives, treasure, and national prestige that strengthened the radicals of Sunni Al-Qaeda and Shiite Iran, making the world noticeably more dangerous. If Saddam was still in power, Al Qaeda would still be hiding in holes in the ground, and Iran would not dare develop nukes.

This will be the end of the colonial order put in by the departing Europeans. The end will be a stronger Iranian state that will have Shiite half of Iraq as a vassal state. And next to it will be a batsh*t crazy Sunni terror state that will make Saddam Hussein look like Jimmy Carter. Non of this is good.

"If Iraq wants help from the USA . . . it should give ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to Iran."

The government in Baghdad is in no position to give or not to give anything to anyone. If a loose group of poorly coordinated islamists is capable of walking in with rifles and taking cities, what can the Iranian army accomplish, if they come with tanks? Iraq is being carved into spheres of influence as we speak, and the dividing lines lie only where the defenders can defend them.

We allied with the evil USSR to defeat Germany and helped the Soviets take over several countries. We should have let Germany and Russia kill each other.
Our present President is a direct result of that mistake!

I had an interesting chat recently with a combat vet—Gulf War 1, Afghanistan since 2005. Here is his idea of reorganizing the military situation.
1) Support the Kurds, get treaty to put our forces in there and phase out Ramstein in Germany. Molify Turkey with more business at Insurlik Airport.
2) In general allow countries in ME to realign into natural ethnic/religious boundries getting rid of artificial colonialist divide-and-conquer boundaries.
3) Rebuild and enhance Indian alliance and dump Pakistan.
4) Get out of Afghanistan soon.
5) No US ground troops in Iraq.
There was more, but I can’t think of it this late. Well, what do you think folks?

This is all part of the overall Iranian Plan:

1) Obtain Nukes
2) Negotiate with the faggot West ad infinatum
3) Pretend to be nice.
4) Support all world Terror groups (NOTE UPSURGE).
5) Extend hegemony over Lebanon (via Hizbollah).
6) Extend hegemony over Syria (via Hizbollah).
7) Extend hegemony over Iraq by “helping” the West fight Al-Qeada types.
8) Fomenting instability all along (and inside) Israel's borders (via HAMAS and Islamic Jihad).
9) Maintain bonds with Russia.
10) Keep President Obama in power, at all cost.

Blaming WW2 for this sorry as Mooslim _resident is like blaming me for the stock market crash of the ‘20s. Come on

You can blame rigged voting, LIVs and sorry a$$ Republican picks for runners as president and I would go for it.

Our _resident is a direct result of a very bad inbreeding experiment that went right.

Now as far as fighting in the sandbox. Lotta of our boys died for nothing and this sorry a$$ mooslim traitor _resident is happy. He likes to see Americans die. We can not bring them back we can only honor them by remembering them.

I say let the rags kill each other off. Do a fly over with a squadron (squadron? crap load) of B52s and carpet bomb Baghdad until it looks like the rest of the sandbox. Then move to the next city. Do not leave a camel standing.

Think in terms of every nation lining the Mediterranean and MidEast having changed its government in the last 10 years when they were stable dictatorships. There is an obvious ongoing operational campaign.

It isn’t publicized.

It is controlled.

Operations are controlled by no greater than brigade sized attacks, poised to influence/maneuver much larger numbers.

Look at timelines of very small significant events planned by 15-50 personnel for control-ability.

IMHO, The US is about to be targeted more directly.

Fortunately the Shiites and the Sunnis aren’t going to stand around singing “You’ve Got Friends”.

Iran is the defacto protector of Shiite Iraq right now. A few thousand of their uniformed troops inside Iraq is just a morale booster.

What matters is how many Iranian agents are inside the Maliki govt and what do they control.

Kurds are in an interesting place. Do they stand alone against ISIS or ally with the Shiites, or with Turkey (as their protector, or both)? Oil is a mighty equalizer in that area.

Shiites. Glad to see that the Mahdi army is being resurrected, not that I like them, but the fact that they will kill the ISIS and vice versa. A little payback for their attacks on our troops.

If our troops had stayed in Iraq, this Al Qaeda invasion probably would have been defeated in the early stages with the Iraqi Air Force and armor decimating ISIS truck/car columns (little to no armor in the beginning).

Now, if the US had a fucking brain, we would have kept napalm in our aerial inventory. It is a game changer on the battle field, or as a grizzled marine told me about the fate of a VC battalion caught in the open, “it was crispy critter time”.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Never got to smell any in Nam but I know what it could do.

No Napalm. No more A-10’s; No more Harriers. No more America!

Obama: YES HE DID!
