Let Them Kill Each Other
American Thinker ^ | 6/16/2014 | Mike Konrad

I know, I know, the recent ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant) gains have everyone scared. No doubt, the Islamophilic administration will want to step in, and save Islam from itself once again. Let me advocate a course of action that will make sense to all sides in America; the left and right; from militarists to pacifists: Let the Muslims kill each other.

After the administration blundered on Benghazi, on the Arab Spring, and Syria, Heaven itself has afforded it one last chance to set itself right. It is almost impossible for the administration to screw it up. All it has to do is nothing.

Yes, Nothing!

ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant) is presently a large group of thugs with guns. They have no navy, no air force, except for a few captured helicopters, which they will soon break. The only ones they can threaten are their fellow Muslims. If they take over Iraq, who cares? They will soon reduce the Levant to the seventh century.

And this is a problem to us? OK, oil prices may spike for a while, but they are going to need to sell their oil because they’ve got nothing else to produce for export and can’t produce any of the fruits of modern industry. Meanwhile, the high prices will encourage domestic drilling and production of our nearly boundless reserves held in shale deposits, to the point where we will become a major oil exporter ourselves.

The do-nothing isolationist crowd speaketh.

By all means, leave Israel surrounded by enemies. (Just like Ron Paul wants.) They’ll leave the Great Satan alone then, won’t they? and still sell us oil too.

But if screwing it up means acting doncha know the clown won’t be able to hold still. He is probably about to wet himself just thinking about it.

Then let Israel deal with them. Anyone Congressional candidate who runs on this campaign slogan will win re-election in November in a landslide:

No more U.S. military commitments in Third World sh!t-holes.

Col David Hunt is saying the same. It won’t be pretty but Syria and Iran won’t play footsie and will stabilize the situation if we stay out of the way.

Agree 100%, let them kill each other BUT...eventually they will reach Israel's (still our most reliable and stable ally in a 5,000 KM radius)borders, then what? WWIII?

Didn't WWII teach anybody anything, that EVIL must be snipped in the bud? Snipped OVERTHERE before it reaches US shores which, it surely will and soon.

So while these Arab/Islamic scum are not worth the sweat off our b*lls, they must be stopped. The irony of it all is that Iran is the main provider for most Islamic terror groups in the world today and now, we're supposed to make buddy buddy with them while they develop an A-Bomb to be used against us? Huh? Pres. Obama can you please, please wake up? What are you smoking?

“Let Israel deal with them” = abandon Israel to being surrounded by them.

Yeah, let Israel deal with them but...no reigning them in at the UN or anywhere else. They have been retrained since 1982, let ‘em lose...Hussein, hands off!

Yes, World War Three.

This is just a brief power struggle to decide who runs the Caliphate, after all. This is not a massive civil war within Islam.

Essentially, that’s the US position now. What, me worry?

Obama shrugs this off as a playground fight, “stupid stuff,” and his slightly more articulate advisers scoff that it’s just “sectarianism.”

These groups really don’t give a darn about the sect; most of them may be Sunnis, but they’ve been killing Sunnis, too, if they’re allied with the civil authority of the former state of Iraq. What these people want to do - and what they have even announced they want to do - is build a trans-national and even trans-sectarian caliphate.

And they don’t plan to limit it to the ME. I happened to see some photos on Twitter of some of their fighters yesterday, and guess what - a group of them were clearly blond. Probably they were from Chechnya, or possibly they were the European or American jihadis who are flocking to Iraq right now.

In any case, this is neither a “regional conflict” or a “sectarian conflict.” This is Islam, seeing its chance because of the weakness of the West and the fact that it has the sympathy of American leaders. Israel is not the only place that should be worried right now.

And shrugging them off as rag-tag rowdies is ridiculous. Aside from the fact that this attack has got them $2.5 billion in new assets (they’re paying fighters as much as $600 per month, a good sum in the ME), not to mention modern US equipment, they are organized militarily and are moving right along, taking city after city.

“The only ones they can threaten are their fellow Muslims. “

Disagree. They have more resources now as well as our wide open borders to get up to huge mischief in the USA; to say nothing of an American president who hates America as much as they do.

We are looking at America’s future.

Some time in the near future it’s won’t be rebels attacking the army...it will be the post office, DEA, FBI, BLM, IRS, and a whole host of governmental entities that are now arming themselves against the citizens.

It is coming as sure as the sun rises in the morning and will be led by our Marxist President, Congress and Supreme Court.

My only solace is that I have no children who will have to live through it and I am old enough that I expect to be on this world for no more than 10 more years.

My generation will the last to know America as it was...what a shame!

That’s too bad. I don’t like welfare cases in the Middle East any more than I like them in Detroit.

Jihadis are today’s nazis, with a twist of Allah.

If they are not stopped, why was Hitler stopped?

The purpose would not be to save “good” muslims, it would be to stop the evil ones.

When Iraq falls, it may be time to consider some serious bomb dropping - enough to set them back to very primitive times.

I’m going to guess that Mr. Konrad has never dared to play a game of chess, since he always gets beaten at checkers, and possibly tic tac toe.

History does not repeat itself, but it ryhmes. The US financially is in many ways like the West Roman Empire, Financially broke and politically divided. The average US citizen had enough of war, especially when it costs lives and treasure at a time when our cities and infrastructure is collapsing due to lack of funds. A few more Iraq and Afghanistan and the US will financially implode from all her debts. We are forced to adopt the strategy of the East Roman Empire. Due to lack of funds and manpowe, the ERE deployed diplomacy and used dirty tricks to keept their enemies fighting amongst themselves. Right now the US needs the Shiites and Sunnis killing each other. Sometimes doing nothing is a strategy. Not everything Ron Paul proposes is crazy. The US after WW2 made the strategic mistake of supporting the partition of British Palestine into a homeland for Jewish refugees in an area surrounding by nationalistic Arabs who were against it. At that time Britain and US were powerful and the Arabs were not, thus the Jews thought they can get away with it. Maybe if they beat the Arabs in several conventional wars, the Arabs will give up and accept the Jewish homeland. Problem is the Arabs did not give up, they persisted and closed the tech gap that gave Israel and the US unlimited power over the Arab resistance. Gen Marshall the Sec of State at the time when Pres Truman was in charge actually forsaw the mess. The US cannot be the ally of Saudi Arabia (oil) and at the same time offend the Arabs by insisting on a homeland for Jews. He predicted decades of trouble for the US for this diplomatic mistep. 6M Jews vs 300M Arabs and expect peace? Even a kid in 8th grade will figure that is trouble. That is my 2 cents. The sad part is all this could have been avoided if the leaders after WW2 thought with their brains and not their emotions. Ironic the US leaders that skillfully lead the nation in WW2 against the Nazis and Japan, gave into emotions and not long term strategic thinking. Sad part is the US must see this through (we tried to avoid another Holocaust by creating a nation that may be the next site of a Holocaust). Eventually the Arabs will get their act together and march on to Israel. It will end when the Arabs drive the Jews into the sea or the Jews nuking the ME.
