Poll: McDaniel Opens 12-Point Lead Over Cochran

BILOXI, Mississippi -- A new poll shows conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel with a commanding 12-point lead the runoff election in Mississippi’s GOP primary over six-term incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS).

The Citizens United Political Victory Fund poll, conducted by Kellyanne Conway of The Polling Company, Inc., shows McDaniel has a 52 percent to 40 percent lead over Cochran.

In a memo, pollster Conway noted too that McDaniel has an “intensity advantage” as 47 percent of his supporters say they are “definite” supporters whereas only 37 percent of Cochran’s say as much.

“With eight days to go before the run-off election in Mississippi, this poll shows that the momentum is with conservative challenger Chris McDaniel,” Citizens United president David Bossie told Breitbart News. “It is clear that Mississippians want a fresh voice in the U.S. Senate.”

Citizens United Political Victory Fund has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars backing McDaniel in Mississippi.

I agree. Get out and vote.

However, generally speaking, when the incumbent is polling below 50% that is a sure danger sign.

Cochran is obviously toast and his multiple gaffes recently-—including the fact that he didn’t even know that Cantor was defeated (he probably doesn’t even know who Cantor is, much less Brat) show precisely how out of touch and cacooned in DC he really is.

Quick! Bloomberg needs to send more money to Cochrane.

It’s pretty amazing how much money Bloomberg has already sent.

“Six term incumbent. Have people no shame?”

I agree, it’s really low to pick on that old man by running against him!

Yep, that's their play, make conservatives think it's ok if they skip cuz McDaniel is so far ahead.

Chris had better be concentrating on getting his vote out.

I agree. Both these polls have small samples. Keep running like we’re behind. Nothing to lose by doing so.

Depends on how many demos come out to vote for thad.

But idiot Michael Mudhead is saying Dems crossed over to vote against Cantor. Can't have it both ways.

"It isn't over until after the election. Cochran MUST be destroyed.

Never count your chickens before they have hatched. MCDANIEL should campaign like he is ten points behind! The surest ways to lose is to think and act like you are going to win big.

Who is your GOP candidate for ‘16?

I’d take:
Scott Walker
Mike Pence
Bobby Jindal

We need a governor.
