Link to the petition is contained in the article. Dunno how carefully the Texas legislation weighs signatures of non-Texans, but every little bit helps, I guess.

Heck with useless petitions. The feds are bus loading these illegals to one state after another.

We should bus load as many as we can and drop them off in front of the White House.

I’d be willing to bet the Texas Rangers have a plan.

Texas needs to force this issue. The U.S. Constitution REQUIRES the individual states to be defended from foreign invasion.

If the Federals abdicate their duties, then Texas is entitled to assert its sovereign duty to prevent this incursion.

If Obama tries to stop it, then he will be clearly exposed as being complicit in this.

This is good. But you are about to see just how ‘conservative’ Rick really is when he fights you all the way down the line.

So pay attention to the ‘between the lines folks. While he makes right wing noises, look at the roadblocks he throws up and how he tries to ensure nothing actually happens.

He won’t prove me wrong. If he miraculously does I’ll admit it.

Solution:

Bus them to DC and let them get off in front of the White House.

There's no need for a special session of the Legislature, the Governor has the necessary authority.

The Texas Constitution lists three reasons for the Governor to call forth the militia

> to execute the laws of the State
> to suppress insurrections
> to repel invasions

There is an invasion.

The Texas statutes define “the militia” as:

> the state military forces
> and the reserve militia

“State military forces” means:

> the Texas National Guard
> the Texas State Guard
> and any other active militia or military force organized under state law

“Reserve militia” means:

> the persons liable to serve, but not serving, in the state military forces.

It is clear that the necessary conditions have been met and that Governor Perry can call forth a large number of persons to repel the invasion.

Tex. Gov. Code

Sec. 431.071. MILITARY DUTY. (a) The reserve militia is not subject to active military duty, except that the governor may call into service the portion of the reserve militia needed for the period required in case of war, insurrection, invasion or prevention of invasion, suppression of riot, tumult, or breach of peace or to aid civil officers to execute law or serve process.

Sec. 431.001. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter:

(1) “Reserve militia” means the persons liable to serve, but not serving, in the state military forces.

(1-a) “Servicemember” has the meaning assigned by Section 161.551, Health and Safety Code.

(2) “State militia” means the state military forces and the reserve militia.

(3) “State military forces” means the Texas National Guard, the Texas State Guard, and any other active militia or military force organized under state law.

(4) “Texas National Guard” means the Texas Army National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard.

Tex. Const. art. 4, § 7

COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF MILITARY FORCES; CALLING FORTH MILITIA. He shall be Commander-in-Chief of the military forces of the State, except when they are called into actual service of the United States. He shall have power to call forth the militia to execute the laws of the State, to suppress insurrections, and to repel invasions.

Unfortunately, these petitions are a sounding board and not much else.

My understanding is that Rick Perry has repeatedly put the Texas Rangers on the border even to the point of them getting into some altercations with the border patrol because they were trying to police the area.

The Border Patrol has essentially been ordered to step down or they set up 20 or more miles inside the border and no at the border where illegals can be interdicted.

Rick Perry is like any other border start governor he only has so much in resources to use.

I don’t see Jan Brewer doing a thing on the AZ border.

There’s a lot of conservative “lip” in Texas especially during election years, but will there be strong in the federal government’s face action.

A session to play with people’s emotions about immigration with symbolic resolutions and votes would be nothing more than election year politics.

By the Constitution of the USA, the governor should declare an invasion and that all Texas resources are directed to repel it until the Federal government in actuality repels it.

Time to re-build the Minutemen. This time with the support and direction of the TEA Party. They fell apart due to internal squabbles, let NEW leaders come forward and patrol the border.

Apparently, FR won't allow the name Jim Gilchrist to be included in the above notification. Not sure what that's about, but here is my invitation for him to join others. I worked with him personally, and at the time, he was as honest and straight forward in his cause as I was.
