This young man, Brooks Hamby, was the salutatorian for his High School’s graduating class. When he submitted his speech to the school for approval, they told him that he would not be able to mention God.
This is what he says in his speech:
It is the best selling Book (or books) of all-time. It should be taught. How could so-called educators not want to acknowledge the most read book of all times. Seems they want to keep people ignorant.

These days it doesn’t do much good to mention God anyway, because there are too many “gods” out there. Are you talking about Allah as god, or the Hindus gods or maybe even Satan is the god spoken about.
These days you have to define it a bit ... like saying the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. These days the “God of Abraham” won’t even do.
Then when you say that, you’ve even got to narrow it down further and say that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, sent His Son for the salvation of the world, whose name is Jesus and is the Messiah of Israel - and that there is no other name under Heaven by which anyone can be saved.
You can’t even say you’re a “Christian” and expect to be correctly understood ... we’ve got two of the biggest cults groups in the world in the USA who claim to be “Christian” and they’re not (Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses).
What this guy said could have actually come from a CULT GROUP for all I know and he’s not a Christian at all. It’s way too vague and uncertain.
One thing that was bothering me, though, about this - is whether he was a member of a CULT GROUP (like the Mormons, or Jehovah’s Witnesses for example). I wouldn’t want to be praising them.

Outstanding! I hope he has all of his scholarships and college admissions cemented in stone because the LITTLE people at his high school will try to mess up his future.
Many references to God in the Old Testament were things like “The God of the Isrealites” and things like that. He is the one true God.
He could quote from the Koran too.

When I was in school, we actually did have the Bible in school and we’re taught to memorize some scriptures, as part of our class assignment. This was no back-woods school, but the Dallas Public School System. When my younger brother went ... they were no longer doing it!
And these days, when I refer to the Bible, I have to define that, too ... as the absolutely inerrant and infallible Word of God, totally dependable in ALL THINGS that it speaks about. I always refer to this historic church document, too ... in regards to that ...

The one that is eminently defining is ... the “God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” ... as God himself uses that repeatedly.
God changed the name of Jacob to “Israel” and then the next generation produced the twelve tribes of Israel. You can’t go off base here, because that locks it down very tight ... right down to the specifics and with Israel.
AND it’s through Israel that God brings forth His Son, who is the Messiah of Israel and who will actually be physically present in the city of Jerusalem, ruling over his one-world government, over these very nations we talk about here on this forum.
