.
No, they just want you to abandon any vestige of Christianity in you before you enter professional life.

Of course, shouting ‘Allah Akbar’ would be permissible and highly recommended.

I was 15 when the law said the Bible could not be used and prayer banned from our high school.

I had an old guy for a chemistry teacher and in our first class he said, you will all ask me sooner or later where the elements come from and so I will tell you now.

He then read from Genesis.

Awesome! When you have a kid, schools the school administration in the 1st Amendment, you know our education system is in need of a serious overhaul.

Ahhh ... that’s what they are ... I love them!

And, really, in real life I do like staying at the Holiday Inn Express. I’m not sure how smart that makes me, though ... :-) ...

It's possible, I guess, but he did quote Jesus [Matthew 5] in his closing remarks about being salt and standing for "what is right, what is ethical, what is moral and godly, no matter what is the cost to you. . ."

I daresay you won't see remarks like these from any high school or college teacher or administrator (except in specifically, unabashedly Christian schools). Only the kids have the guts to make biblical witnesses and exhortations.

This is something that could very easily have been said by one of the two largest CULT GROUPS in the USA (Mormons and Jehovah’s Witmesses). And they both refer to “Jesus” but it’s not the Jesus of the Bible.

For Mormons, their Jesus is the brother of SATAN. For Jehovah’s Witnesses, their Jesus is a created being (not eternal as the Son of God is), although they say he’s the pre-eminent created being.

Neither one takes Jesus, as the Son of God in the Triune Godhead and in that Godhead having been here before the creation of anything seen or unseen in the universe (and even the “space” of the universe and the element of “time”) — or take him as the Almighty God and the Eternal and self-existent One, having no beginning and no end.

The CULT GROUPS are very good at using the same names and terminology, to fool people. It’s how they DEFINE them ... that makes the difference.

Just because they say “Jesus” and quote Scripture doesn’t mean anything.

And this is exactly the situation that Jesus said it would be, close to the time of him coming again ... “Deception!”

I know the difference too ... and this could have just as easily been said - word for word - by a CULT GROUP MEMBER - such as the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses.

There is nothing there (in those words) to distinguish him in that way - from being in a Cult Group.

we’ve got two of the biggest cults groups in the world in the USA who claim to be “Christian” and they’re not (Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses).

Would you provide some ammo on the JW’s. They appear here a couple times a year and I like to have something to offer them as I tell them to get off my property.

Let’s get back to the crux of the matter: he was told not to mention God, and he did. . . resoundingly and unapologetically. He didn’t preach even a whiff of any sectarian doctrine; he simply referenced Jesus and the New Testament Sermon on the Mount. If any listener was motivated to look up his reference in the Bible, I’ll trust the Holy Spirit to take over from there.

You can really get a lot of “ammo” on the Jehovah’s Witnesses from Dr. Walter Martin’s book - Kingdom of the Cults.

And then there are Christian websites that specialize in cult groups, in which in which you can get a lot of information.

Their “Bible” is basically a “King James” version with a few key changes made to support some key doctrines they have. It’s called the New World version, if I remember correctly.

They’re more than happy to have long discussions with you as that just earns them more “brownie points” in their religion ... no matter whether you believe them or not.
