Bush tried and tried to get an agreement to leave a group behind. It would have happened had we had a different President taking over the ship.

I remember during Obama’s 1st campaign he even met with Iraq leaders in an effort to convince them to postpone the timeline deal for withdrawal until after he was elected so he could take full credit. Then he discovered that the masses will believe his lies.
