His Saudi masters must have given him an ultimatum: “Do it.”

Just enough to maintain an orderly evacuation. Saigon all over.

“Just enough to maintain an orderly evacuation. Saigon all over.”

Or just enough to be killed by a truck bomb or some other assault. Or just enough to be taken as hostages.

This sounds like Beruit. But more like Tehran in 1979. The Iranians are coming into Iraq. They would be more than happoy to hold Americans hostage.

I think Obama wants these troops captured. Then he can trade all his friends in Gitmo for them.

Did Curic ask great leader if the ISIL were using American weapons from Libya, or are we ready to trade the American Ambassador for the Blind Sheik? LOL, like that would ever happen. Maybe we should make it a Global War, that would get us out of this Depression and get the scandals off the front page. Maybe even get him a 3rd term in office.

So we’re sending 275 potential hostages -

With orders not to fire back when fired upon.

>>>His Saudi masters must have given him an ultimatum: “Do it.”

Sorry, but that wouldn't make sense. Saudi's are Sunni...and likely behind ISIS and supporting their advance. Sending troops to protect Shia would be counter-productive and not in their interests.

Obama was raised Sunni. It makes sense that he would want to see ISIS win. Something else is at play here and its probably political cover. But suggesting the Saudis want marines to guard a shia government would suggest they are undermining their own agenda.

I’m sure four unarmed guys can handle it; there’s precedent.

Not to be crass but why the announcement of the number? For a proper head count? Subtle messages being sent in so many different directions from bozo the clown.

The US Navy has sent yet another ship into the Persian Gulf, this time to carry Osprey combat helicopters.

The Osprey might be useful in the early phases of an evacuation. But if the LZ gets 'hot' you're going to need Helo's that can defend themselves. The Osprey has a single MG on a stern-gate mount with a limited field of fire.

It would be interesting to see what Obama’s rules of engagement are. Wouldn’t be surprised if the troops have rubber bullets, with this CIC.
