George Clooney set to follow in Arnold Schwarzenegger's footsteps and run for Governor of California

Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney is set to follow in the footsteps of fellow actor Arnold Schwarzenegger by running for Governor of California.

Friends of the Gravity star say the 53-year-old is being courted by Barack Obama’s Democrat party who want him to run for office in the 2018 race.

As the Mirror exclusively revealed last month George is planning to launch his new career after he ties the knot with British lawyer Amal Alamuddin, 36, in September, following an eight-month romance.

Friends say the stunning human rights barrister, who represented WikiLeaks' Julian Assange, initially wants to continue her career in London but is happy to move to America to support her soon-to-be husband’s blossoming political career.

The couple have been hurriedly looking at potential wedding venues and have identified Venice as their number one choice so far for an Autumn ceremony.

George already counts Obama as a good friend and four months ago was the President’s guest for a screening of his latest movie, The Monuments Men, at the White House.

Has Clooney's head ballooned enough to stick a pin in him and cause implosion?

However, couldn't be any worse than Brown, I guess.

Poor, beautiful CA--overrun with daisy tiptoers, progressive schemers, and gimme illegals.

“The Dims could run a goat here and it would win by 15 pts.”

Last I looked there were no significant elected state offices occupied by Republicans. I wouldn’t care who ran there as even a “Republican” would be so left as to be unrecognizable. I am just tired of the press quoting this man as if he knew anything. Imagine how much we’ll hear of him if he becomes governor.

From Governor Moonbeam to Governor Heartthrob. Clooney will get to witness firsthand what happens when Socialism and Progressivism is apply to real people with real problems. Crash. Burn. Rot.

I thought a while back Clooney admitted that he did way too many drugs and bedded way too many women to ever think about running for office. He admitted that his closet is slam full of skeletons that would ruin any politician.

Maybe George wouldn’t be so eager to run if we point out he’s not just following in Ahnold’s footsteps; rather, he’s following in Reagan’s footsteps—and to some extent, Nixon’s.

RE; did way too many drugs and bedded way too many women to ever think about running for office.

There was a time in this country when those things MATTERED to the voters.

We live in different times where even being OPENLY GAY is a badge of honor and will HELP get you elected.

And then there's the awful stuff he did in public.

Well, if I’m not mistaken, he’s a high school graduate with some college.

And a lot of movie and tv acting experience. And People magazine thinks he’s sexy.

I think he’ll do very, very well. /s

But his candidacy will be another very well regulated thermometer of this country’s slide into oblivion.

RE: Well, if I’m not mistaken, he’s a high school graduate with some college.

He attended Northern Kentucky University from 1979 to 1981, majoring in Broadcast Journalism, and very briefly attended the University of Cincinnati, but did not graduate from either.

But then, this educational background is very similar to Scott Walker of Wisconsin.
