The Iraqi soldiers tell of how they can hardly live with the shame of their rout under the onslaught of the Islamic militants. Their commanders disappeared. Pleas for more ammunition went unanswered. Troops ran from post to post only to find them already taken by gunmen, forcing them to flee.
I see it in the eyes of my family, relatives and neighbors, one lieutenant-colonel who escaped the militants sweep over the northern city of Mosul told The Associated Press. I am as broken and ashamed as a bride who is not a virgin on her wedding night.

But they have good deals on rifles - never used and only dropped once.
800 terrorists routed 30,000 Iraqi soldiers
The Iraqi Army = The new ARVN
Nothing another trillion U.S. dollars can’t fix.
Don’t believe the “ashamed” part.
My buddy served two tours in Iraq. The American soldiers would accompany the Iraqi “soldiers” on patrols and the Iraqis would drop their guns and flee at the first sound of gunfire leaving our guys to fend for themselves.
Iraqis are ungrateful cowards.

That knowledge along with the humiliation of deserting may stiffen their resolve in Act II.
Almost as if they were Italian Army regulars in North Africa......
Cry me a river, Abdul.
Ripping off 5 or 6 hundred rounds out of your RPK far above the horizon just because you can and then whining about lack of ammo?
Bet those guys mouldering in the ditches wished they'd gone with the "one shot, one kill" theory.
I am as broken and ashamed as a bride who is not a virgin on her wedding night.
Ummm ... come on over to the USA, then. That doesn’t seem to be any kind of a problem here!
An oldie but a goodies concerning French rifles...
There will only be peace when the Sunni and Shite are eradicated.
