Common Core Protesters Give Jeb Bush a New Hashtag: #StopJebNow

rotesters gathered Monday in Cincinnati, where Mr. Bush was headlining a fundraiser for the Republican National Committee. Some placards wielded the hashtag #StopJebNow.

“Gov. Bush led on higher standards long before Common Core was in the picture, and he won’t back away from higher standards just because some pundits question their political impact,” said Sally Bradshaw, Mr. Bush’s former chief-of-staff and a current political adviser. “That’s just not how he rolls.”

Nearly every one of his possible GOP rivals in 2016 have assailed Common Core (Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum), or backtracked on their previous support (Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee). Mr. Bush’s home state of Florida even amended the Common Core standards and withdrew from a national group creating the companion tests.

The opposition to Common Core is coming not only from conservatives. Across the political spectrum, activists are also pointing to the companies that stand to profit off Common Core – some of which give money to Mr. Bush’s think tank, the Foundation for Excellence in Education. Mr. Bush doesn’t draw a salary from the foundation.

“The question is whether there is special policy influence somehow being purchased by folks who have money and are making contributions to the foundation,” said Donald Cohen, executive director of In the Public Interest, a liberal government watchdog group. “The foundation is using its influence to help a company expand its market share.”

Officials for the foundation reject the criticism that its policies are determined by corporate funders. About two dozen states have adopted at least part of Mr. Bush’s education agenda, which includes grading schools based on their test scores,

Jeb Bush is not a Republican.

He is in a class(less) place all his own, and is merely a progressive NWO elitist distraction for all the talking heads to factor in as a semi-serious candidate for POTUS.

He would probably give Hillary a serious primary opponent for the 2016 Democrat Party POTUS nomination...and he would probably beat her as the Democrat candidate, but he is a non-starter as a Republican.
No conservative would vote for him.

And yes, I am a Florida resident.Does he have a book coming out soon?

Jeb Bush is not a Republican.

Jen is not a Conservative, but he fits right in with the Republican Establishment. And they drive the direction of the Republican Party today.

Jebbie may have a financial tie to the publishers putting out all the Common Core material which the states will buy. A captive market; sweet ears to people like the Bushes.

Here's how you do dishonest political bait and switch: "Gov. Bush led on higher standards long before Common Core..."

Ah, Common Ccre does not equal higher standards. No one opposed higher standards. And there's a heck of a lot more to Common Core than the untried, untested, and phoney educational standards in Common Core.

So, when a politician's spokesman resorts to dishonest bait and switch, I then do not believe a word that politician says. And that's only being sensible.
