LETTER: Steve King for House majority leader
Sioux City Journal ^

Posted on 06/17/2014 6:59:13 PM PDT by ObamahatesPACoal

With the departure of Eric Cantor as majority leader, it's time to replace him with someone with strong conservative values.

My choice is Steve King of Iowa.

Steve is not looking for votes, but is looking for solutions to problems.

It would be interesting if the Ethanol, Wind and Ag Groups used their clout to try to push Steve King.

You are full of shit. Labrador has utterly rejected the GOP amnesty program. Just because he is of Puerto Rican extraction doesn’t mean he is for amnesty.

you can read i assume ?

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/06/16/McCarthy-Labrador-About-Equal-On-Supporting-Amnesty

“Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) both support legalization for the undocumented immigrants already in the country and are largely in line with establishment thinking on the issue.”

Did anyone mention that “is of Puerto Rican extraction”?

Labrador was a member of the original House Gang of Eight. He has since left that group, but he has not rejected amnesty.

Proposed King on another thread

He’s the obvious soul of the Republican Party base in the House

Branstad, Chuck Grassley and Steve King need to get a better Secretary than Vilsack in 2017. Instead of talking about amnesty they need to talk about who the next Secretary of Agriculture will be.

That should unite the establishment and Steve King.

The Only politician I've donated to in the last 25 years is Steve King. He's my congresscritter and I couldn't be happier with him. ABSOLUTE HAWK on immigration, probably the fiercest hawk in the house. Ditto fiscal matters.

If I'm not mistaken, he was one of the prime movers in the conservative revolt a couple months back. THAT's the kind of Congressman he is!!

If his constituents beliefs on the matter mean a hill o beans to ya, this constituent says happily, KING FOR SPEAKER!!!

Or barring that, Majority Leader at least.

Yes, if the GOPe is concerned at all about “unity” and “coming together” and all that, here’s a great way to show it - place a real conservative in the Speaker position. King would fit the bill for sure.
