Canada OKs oil pipeline to the Pacific Coast
Fuel Fix ^ | June 17, 2014 | Associated Press

Canada’s government on Tuesday approved a proposed pipeline to the Pacific Coast that would allow oil to be shipped to Asia, a major step in the country’s efforts to diversify its oil industry.

The approval Tuesday was expected. Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper has been a staunch supporter of Enbridge’s proposed Northern Gateway pipeline after the U.S. delayed a decision on TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline that would take oil from Alberta to the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Enbridge’s pipeline would transport 525,000 barrels of oil a day from Alberta’s oil sands to the Pacific to deliver oil to Asia, mainly energy-hungry China.

It’s a good thing that oil is going to China and not to the USA. China needs jobs and industrial production. The US needs to protect the environment.

The title should be CANADA GIVES UP ON AMERICA

Barack Obama, The Great Prevaricator Himself, has won by default.

Of course he couldn’t have done it without his loyal band of butt kissing journalists and newsreaders to spin the story and cover up his lies, ineptitude and evil intent.

Don't be so sad. Keystone will get built, eventually. There is too much oil in Alberta for the Northern Gateway to handle alone.

However, you are right, whoever lines up first with a tanker at Kitimat gets first dibs.

China, India, Russia have no interest in climate change. They want to prosper. You can deduce what Obama’s plan is.

Because Canadian oil sold to China helps prop up OPEC export prices thereby providing the DNC continued campaign contributions.

Obama would rather have our $Dollars go to people that hate us than to our neighbors.

And it's best that more oil go to the biggest polluter.

Because Canadian oil sold to China helps prop up OPEC export prices

- - - - - -

More oil sold on the export market either decreases OPEC prices or their quantity of oil sold.

It’s encouraging news, then, that the United States is on track to become the world’ biggest oil exporter by 2020

BS. No data or analysis shows that claim. Producer, maybe, exporter, no freaking way.

To support their claim, the link to the Wall Street Journal article that says:

“The use of techniques such as “fracking” to unlock previously inaccessible oil reserves in the U.S. have transformed the country’s oil industry, putting it on track to become the world’s largest oil producer by 2020, according to the IEA.”

IEA Sees Spread of Shale Revolution Before End of Decade

As I said, producer, not exporter.

And the equivalent of cannon fodder that vote for Obama believe that.

so much for peak oil alarmists. They never contemplated fracking and in 50 years there will be another technology nobody is aware of today. Technology is a wonderful thing in a free enterprise system.

I find this confusing. When Governor Palin said, “drill, baby, drill,” the far left assured us that new production couldn’t change supply for 20 years. How is it that new production has changed supply dramatically in only a few years?

Socialist Canada votes for pipeline WORK for their Nation, while Communist Obamanation Democrats choose to regulate to NOT create WORK within the XL Pipeline in the former USA.

Most social engineering articles are about why The Federal Government is not forcing Businesses to “give” more jobs to people.

IOW, the “people” view a job as an entitlement that comes from the Federal Government forcing greedy businesses to “pay their fair share” so that everyone has a “living wage.”

The Reality is that the Federal Government is the primary restrictor of WORK that is allowed to be done in America.

The Federal Politicians in “both” parties speak of “getting the economy going again” while they spend themselves into bankruptcy 60 % into each Fiscal Year.

The Federal politicians in “both” parties speak of creating jobs, while paying the salaries of Regulators to write Regulations that restrict WORK that is allowed to be done in America.

Without an increase in WORK, there will be no increase in JOBS.

Those who oppose WORK thus oppose JOBS.

Right now, We, The Taxpayers, have 40 % more Federal Government than we can afford.

Right now, We, The People, have two political parties, the GOP-E and the Obama Democrats, that do not put the US Constitution to WORK.

It is time, - - - - time for a change.

Oil is a commodity. This means the more there is available to the world market(no matter where it goes)potentially decreases the price. Supply goes up, demand stays constant, price goes down(economics 101). The important thing is the Canadians are going to decrease the cost/barrel of getting this oil/commodity delivered to a potential refinery somewhere in the world. IF the Chinese/Indians/Japanese buy the Canadian oil, then the Iranian & Venezuelan heavy crude oil has to be cheaper or they will need to sell it to someone else. The more oil on the world market that is not in control of OPEC is a good thing for all the consuming countries. It is a bad thing for Russia, Iran, Venezuela, and other countries that have high production costs.

Another point, just because this oil gets to the coast of BC at Kitimat does not mean it is ONLY going to Asia.
Much of this product could end up in refineries in WA, OR and California. However, it would potentially compete with oil coming from Alaska.

I never saw that claim. What was said, and true, is that a place like ANWR would take ~10 years to bring into production from the day the government decided they would allow leasing.
