Some conservatives say the recent primary loss of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) shows a Republican like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush cannot win a presidential primary because of his views on immigration. Bush and another Florida politician hoping for the presidency are taking very different approaches to the issue.
As the dust settles on Cantor's stunning primary loss, some analysts say he was ousted because he was seen as a Washington insider. Others say Virginias open primary allowed Democrats and independents to sabotage his race.
But conservatives, like Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), say it shows their party's base is opposed to comprehensive immigration reform. Says Rep. King, If youre going to point to one single issue that this election pivoted on, it was on immigration and it was on amnesty.

That and his last name would.
Is water wet?
It already has, by my reckoning.
No G-D Dammit, NO No No....
The only bad thing about Reagan was that he ended up having to pair up with Mr. Thousand Points of Light NWO HW Bush the Weakling Wimp epitome of the Rockefeller Republican Checked Pants moron GOPe jackwad establishment...
Has Jeb made any statement at all about the Children’s Crusade on our southern border? Haven’t heard anything, but I might have missed it. This issue is so important to him and all the Bushes, you’d think he’d want to make a statement about all these most recent “acts of love”.
Hey Jeb, how are those superior latino family values working out? Theyre abandoning 10s or even 100s of thousands of their children. Yep, theyre so much better than we Americans. And oh, they work better and are more fertile too.
Jeb, your noble savage racism is insulting.
Jeb Bush supports the common core program.
Jeb Bush supports an illiterate population of workers, just right for his “el Heffe” economy.
Jeb Bush is antithetical to everything America stands for.
Does a bear, well, you know.
It didn’t seem to hurt Linseed.
No more Bush’s a big governement conservative is simply a corporatist who does not pay enough taxes.
I certainly hope so. We on Main Street are tired of buying lube for Wall Street to continue to ream us.
I certainly hope something does. I’m not picky.
I would hope so, and there are a host of other reasons.
Jen’s idiotic statement that breaking our immigration laws is “an act of love” disqualified him. Tens of thousands of children are being given over to human smugglers to break our immigration laws. Perhaps he thinks that is an act of love, too.
Never forget that Jeb Bush let Teri Schavo die.
I surely hope so (and I mean that as an “act of love”)!
Just have a look at the border of TX right now. Even Hillary Clinton says send them back home. She doesn’t intend to do that but she is smart enough to say that so she gets votes from Americans who know we cant feed the world.
Last name. Common Core. Liberal. Shamnesty.
What’s not to dislike?
We can hope so, can’t we?
