Brett Favre Endorses Thad Cochran in US Chamber Ad
Breitbart TV ^ | 6-19-14 | Jeff Poor

In an ad posted on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's YouTube page on Wednesday, former NFL quarterback Brett Favre, a product of the coastal town of Kiln, MS that played college ball at the University of Southern Mississippi, came out to support incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS).

“I’ve learned through football that strong leadership makes the difference between winning and losing. And when it comes to our state’s future, trust me: Mississippi can win and win big with Thad Cochran,” Favre said. “Thad Cochran always delivers, just like he did during Katrina."

Cochran is locked into a runoff battle with Tea Party hopeful State Sen. Chris McDaniel that is set for a vote on June 24. The two first faced off in the Mississippi Republican Primary on June 3, with McDaniel having a slight edge in the results. However, without a candidate earning more than 50 percent, the contest is headed to a runoff.

Wonder how much they paid him to sell the Cochran brand, now that he’s not hawking Wranglers.

It looks like a mash up of Brett & his brother. Brett was sued for sexual harassment; and his brother was pardoned by Barbour.

Earnest Scott Favre "had his record cleared in the 1996 death of his best friend, Mark Haverty," the AP reports. "Favre had driven in front of a train in Pass Christian while drunk, pleaded guilty in 1997, and was sentenced to a year of house arrest followed by two years' probation."

Thad Cochran always delivers, just like he did during Katrina."

That is Cochran's argument in a nutshell. He brings federal money to the state. Thank God some state residents realize that electing a "King of Pork" to the Senate is not in the long term interests of the country or state.

Ah. Clearly this is just a favor return then.

Wonder how many other strings Barbour plans to pull in the next week.

On the one hand, I’m surprised he would associate his name with any non- democrat ( read: America hating leftist). On the other hand, he’s dead to me.

I always thought he was a cut above

Nah. Got the correct info here:

“Earnest Scott Favre “had his record cleared in the 1996 death of his best friend, Mark Haverty,” the AP reports. “Favre had driven in front of a train in Pass Christian while drunk, pleaded guilty in 1997, and was sentenced to a year of house arrest followed by two years’ probation.” “

Barbour pardoned his brother.

As I recall, the Farve family had less than a stellar reputation in my home state. I don’t think dragging out that name is helping Cockrun much ...which is ok by me :)

Not much time left and IMO it is what it is at this point. I can’t see much being changed
in the last four days. But all these ploys show the desperation the Cochran campaign
believes their situation is.

For those of you who will not be voting in Mississippi, which is most of the posters when it comes to this race, Bret Farve is still very popular here.

I really don’t think any Ole Miss fans or Mis’sippi State fans are going to be swayed by some guy who played football at Hattiesburg High. Bring up someone from Millsaps, then we can talk.
