A much better statement, Mr. Carney: “I never told the truth.” That IS the truth.

I applaud his consistency. He always lies. For him to say, “I lied”, thus telling the truth, would be a paradox.

How does this man live in his own skin? Does he feel guilt or shame? I can’t breathe when I tell a lie. My body can’t function properly. My conscience screams “Stop!” as the lie forms in my head and begins to pass my lips. Nausea, sleeplessness, irritability, anxious trembling in my hands and knees are my constant partners for days in the aftermath of telling a lie. If not for the life-restoring blessing of God’s mercy through the sacrament of Reconciliation I doubt I would be alive to type these words. I pray that Carney and his fellow deceivers in the Obama administration seek the mercy of the One who loves them beyond measure.
