My parents didn’t spend much time warning us kids about vandalism, petty theft or mail fraud, but much was made of the attention and focus we would need as adults when it came to our finances, because the Internal Revenue Service could pounce at any time. “If you ever get audited” were chilling words that frightened me, as I was certain I could never, ever produce the requisite documentation to defend myself and would be mortally ashamed when I had to suffer the legal consequences. My mother, who ran her own business, lamented the time it took her to copy every receipt and invoice, which filled multiple filing cabinets in her small office past our laundry room, back when records were still kept only on paper.
Now electronic, all documents must be stored or destroyed — even in our federal government. The IRS’s own rules state: “IRS offices will not store the official recordkeeping copy of e-mail messages that are federal records ONLY on the electronic mail system, unless the system has all of the features of an electronic recordkeeping system.” The news that emails Lois Lerner, the central figure in the investigation into the agency’s targeting of conservative groups, wrote between 2009-2011 accidentally perished in a computer crash is once again asking us all to choose between laughing or crying.

Near the end of the last panel, one person observed that Holder and the DoJ would never prosecute anyone near an 0bama scandal. The corruption spreads across party lines.

Like I said, nothing will happen to Obama. The entire administration is the most corrupt ever and apparently a lot of the GOP is, too. Short of storming the WH, I don’t see things changing any time soon.
If this went no higher than Lois Lerner you would see her thrown under the bus. It goes to the top, that's what they are hiding. It's impeachable, check the second count against Nixon.
I’m all for border security.
Put armed guards on the south and north borders and enforce the law. Folks try to sneak in, shoot em and let em lie where they fall as a warning to others.

It is not crystal clear that targeting certain groups is a crime. It is crystal clear that intentionally destroying evidence is.
There has to be a copy. They can’t be that good. If they are, there is an IT person somewhere looking at time.

The IRS has gotten to the point that it is impossible to control. It needs to be dismantled.

Nixon was never impeached. They threatened him, and he resigned. He was NOT impeached.
Of course you could threaten Obama all day long, and he wouldn't budge.
I’m watching the hearings now and I see that this is just another BS session. The IRS will stonewall and the republicans will rail agains’t it with accusations and nothing will come of it. Currently the IRS is still targeting conservative groups even while these hearing are being held.

Paul Ryan’s “I don’t believe you” to the smirking Koskinen finally got the story covered by NBC and CBS tonight.
This may be the first time that A.B. has ventured an opinion outside the bounds of conventional DC wisdom. This is a problem for me, because I depended on her as a reliable leading indicator. Anyway, something must be going on in the Kremlin.
