Trail Of Lost IRS Emails Might Lead To White House
Investor's Business Daily ^ | June 20, 2014 | IBD EDITORIALS

Posted on 06/20/2014 6:15:04 PM PDT by raptor22

Scandal: One of the seven people, including Lois Lerner who lost emails from the period of Tea Party targeting by the IRS, served as chief of staff to former IRS head Steven Miller. She also made 35 visits to the White House.

The funny thing about emails is that they are never orphans. When you send one, there's always a recipient who has his or her own copy. The "lost" Lois Lerner emails had recipients. How about subpoenas to all of them during the Tea Party targeting period? That should help find what we need to know — or maybe not.

It seems six more IRS officials have lost critical emails from that period, a seeming statistical impossibility that shouts out a conspiracy to obstruct justice, and more violations of the Federal Records Act, which requires paper copies of these emails to be printed and stored just in case of computer problems.

One of those officials who received Lerner emails and also lost them was Nikole Flax, chief of staff to former IRS Commissioner Steven Miller. Miller, who was fired in the wake of the targeting scandal, visited the White House more than most Cabinet members.

The WH already said there were no emails. But if she made 35 visits to the WH, that’s a lie. At minimum, she would have had to make visit requests.

Then he was offended because in 27 years no one had ever said they didn’t believe him. What an arrogant p.o.s.!

They act like they know nothing will happen to them. And, sadly, they’re right. Our only hope is a republican get elected president and doesn’t turn out to be like the previous republicans and say “We need to move on.”

“Inherent Contempt” and Congress should get off their lazy asses and Use the Power Of the Constitution. Jail Every Last person that does not bring the evidence requested, or answer the question posed. Let them rot for a few months without visitors and watch them start changing their tune.

Will they throw the book at him or will they just give him a tongue-lashing and then tuck him in and kiss him goodnight?

If the latter is true, there is no need to hold these fake “hearings”.

Cover up. Charge Koskinen and get him to rat out those above him.

It might, but as long as Boehner is Obama’s lap dog, we’ll never know.

Bob Woodward says reporters don’t have the time anymore to do in depth investigative journalism anymore. RANK HYPOCRISY.

The egregious, in-your-face, bird-flipping continues unabated. All because the criminals know they can do whatever they want with impunity. TOTAL IMPUNITY!!!

This entire travesty is at the feet of the GOP-e who continue to prove themselves worthless eunuchs on the political battlefield. I spit on all of them and I'll be damned if they ever again get one iota of support from me, not financially nor (if it even matters anymore) in the voting booth. Spineless, cowardly bastards!

I believe it was a Texas congressman, Cruz or Stockman, who formally requested those records from the NSA.

Duh... ya think?

You don’t get scores of visits to the WH without some emails back and forth about the topics under discussion. We know the visits took place, and I bet that they are highly unusual compared with past Administrations. So, did they only talk in person (unusual in itself), or did they (Lerner and other IRS personnel and the WH people they met with) ever have other communications? Hmmmm?

WHAT HAPPENED TO LERNER’S REPLACEMENT HARD DRIVE?

When a HD crashes and needs to be replaced (either with a new HD or another computer with new HD), normally files including emails are recovered and transferred to the new HD. If the hard drive had files that couldn’t be recovered, the backup system would be used to rebuild files and then a transfer of these files to the new HD would be performed.

After transfer, the new HD should have files on it for the most recent 6 month period before the date of IT servicing. Here’s the kicker—Lois Lerner and ALL IRS EMPLOYEES should have other backups/record of their files (either hard copies and/or electronic) because they know the backup system only goes back 6 months. If this weren’t the case, nobody at IRS would have any record of communications beyond 6 months! IT’S NOT REASONABLE (POSSIBLE) THAT ANYONE AT IRS WOULD HAVE MORE THAN 6 MONTHS OF DATA LOSS (INCLUDING EMAIL)!

There is also an IT department/service “paper trail” for all this.

Not to mention e-mails are NOT a point to point transmission. They go to a “post office” so to speak. Now, for most E-mails, there are two post offices. One for the sender, and one for the reciver. I could believe that the emails, given their nature, all went through a single post office (server) since they are likely from the same domain.. but are they?

Lerners domain is likely a irs.gov for her email. Zero’s would likely be a whitehouse.gov or something like that.. could it be the same server? ya, but unlikely..

All these machines have back ups, all these machines have raid (redundant array (of) inexpensive drives) and it’s very very very very rare that there is not also another form of back up.

The administration is buying time and trying to kick the can. he can’t start the pardons yet.
