The Texas Governor has not yet committed to run, but he is boasting about getting his ducks in a row.

Two-and-a-half years after his first campaign for the White House flopped, Texas Governor Rick Perry sounds ready for another run at the presidency. “I’m glad I ran in 2012, as frustrating, as painful and as humbling as that experience was,” Perry told a group of national reporters at a Thursday lunch hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

“Preparation is the single most important lesson that I learned out of that process,” he said. “Over the last 18 months, I’ve focused on being substantially better prepared. Please don’t take that as an indication that I’ve made a decision that I’m going to run or not—but if I do make that decision, I will be prepared.”

It's pretty well proven at this point that the base won't vote for a liberal candidate.

I will at least try to keep the worst of the worst out. There will never be or has there ever been the perfect candidate.

It's not about perfect. That's a BS strawman argument.

How about a candidate that matches the GOP-E platform? Mitt damn sure didn't.

I believe a politician’s past choices are more instructive than whatever it is he claims to be now. It tells you what his instincts are.

Hope you find the perfect candidate, like President Reagan.

Hey Naps! Good to see you again. I hope all is well.

Yes, Perry would make a terrible president, just as he makes a terrible presidential candidate. Even if he didn't lean so far left the job is well over his head. No thanks.

Every election. If there isn't a conservative republican, I find someone that is conservative to vote for.

I'm not a republican, and I don't owe them my vote.

I’ve always loved Perry but fact is, if he doesn’t do something about his border, I’m out.
