India is an odd place, so much poverty, and so many brilliant, industrious people. They also are very pro-Israel. If we are to lose our status, I wish we had made India the next superpower instead of China.

Some business associates of mine who do business in Asia have described India as one of the most backward places they’ve ever seen. Even the Indian ones would prefer not to do business there.

It looks like you’ll get your wish. India may be China’s biggest nightmare.

“India is an odd place, so much poverty, and so many brilliant, industrious people.”

While many people from the Third World are no doubt industrious, that often doesn’t mean they are brilliant. While many Asians are hard workers, they tend to lack a creative streak that leads to innovation. I’ll concede another country has “so many brilliant people” when they no longer see any point to coming here.

Any large population will generate many brilliant, industrious people. It is the culture & government that determines whether these attributes are rewarded.

India is poised to be the next emerging market after China, which was the successor to Japan. I am old enough to remember the phrase, "Japanese junk," and looking at the bottom of toys to see if they were "Made in Japan."
