The timing is not merely suspicious, it is damning.
[T]he alleged disappearance of Ms. Lerner's hard driveand the fact that the missing conversations are those the former IRS director had with people outside the IRShas suddenly resurrected, with force, the explosive possibility that she was chatting with Democrats who mattered.
There's plenty of reason to believe she was. Just last week Congress discovered (via a subpoena to the Justice Department) emails showing that Ms. Lerner had conversations with Justice prosecutors about investigating conservative nonprofits. Who else in the Obama administration was Ms. Lerner talking to?
I'm omitting all of the correspondence between Lerner and Congressional Democrats -- but check the piece to refresh your memory.
Here's the chronology of this "crash:"

Waiting for Special Prosecutor...3-2-1
Lois Lerner’s husband is Michael Miles, a Washington-based corporate insurance lawyer and partner at the politically-connected law firm Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan. They now share a $2.4 million residence near Bethesda, Maryland.
Miles previously served as an attorney in the Office of the Chief Counsel of the IRS.
Well, well, well. Who didn’t see this coming? Time for some medieval ‘advanced interrogation’ methinks
obammy and company are lying f-ing criminals.
Follow The Emails.
Chronology is irrelevant, because they think this is like the little kid begging for a toy or treat. No matter how often the kid asks the answer is going to be “no”, so the parent doesn’t bother offering explanations or “chronologies”. Obama has decided that these emails will not be provided “because I said so”.
There will be no special prosecutor or any other prosecution as long as Obama is president.
Must’ve been due to all that lesbian porn she was downloading.
First step is clone the drive and work with the cloned drive ,oops they missed the first step ,sorry
The office of Commissioner was created by Congress by the Revenue Act of 1862. The Commissioner is appointed by the President, with the consent of the Senate, for a five-year term.

John Koskinen December 23, 2013
You have to wonder if Koskinen was brought in to "manage" this. He's a pretty good liar, from what I saw of his joust with Dave Camp. But he's still a liar...
Emails should be saved by the system not someone’s local hard drive.
Did Miles work under Obama?
The emails ARE saved on the system. And backed up every week. And the backups stored off-site every month.
