DETROIT The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) on Friday became the most prominent religious group in the United States to endorse divestment as a protest against Israeli policies toward Palestinians, voting to sell church stock in three companies whose products Israel uses in the occupied territories.
The General Assembly voted by a razor-thin margin -- 310-303 -- to sell stock in Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard and Motorola Solutions. Two years ago, the General Assembly rejected a similar divestment proposal by two votes.

they are the PC-USA arent they?
The great writer Flannery O'Connor wrote about a church of Jesus Christ without Christ. I didn't know what she was talking about when I first read her book many years ago.
Now I do.
Hmmm - Israel - isn’t that where Bethlehem is? - isn’t that where Jesus Christ was born? - didn’t he get that Christian religion stuff going? - are these Presbyterians supposed to be Christians? - the drive to be morally superior to all those who are less sensitive and compassionate sure does strange things to some people’s thinking.....
Yes, they are PCUSA.
That’s right Presbys-—reject Israel and embrace gay marriage. Might as well be a denomination for heretics and apostacy.
The late Rev. D.James Kennedy would be aghast at what the Presbyterians are becoming.
NO- The PC(USA) hates Jews and unborn babies, and loves homosexuality.
How uncannily descriptive. We can be certain that they didn’t choose the acronym based on their attitudes...but perhaps someone else...did.
This is exactly the reason my PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) church is growing by >1000% over the last 10 years in LA.
Right you are.
And now this.
Presbyterians vote to allow gay marriage.
Many of the Founders were Presbyterians, weren’t they, and weren’t many of the political philosophers and professors they relied on for their views as well?
Our new Allies in Iraq the Iranians don’t like Israel.
Now that they want to ‘help’ us we don’t want to offend them.
Not every denomination using the Presbyterian name does that.
It's way past time that anti-Semites in this country be called out. Loud and in their face(s). No more soft peddling, no more politeness. No more of the mealy mouthed milksop politeness of the cowardly Republicans in congress.
That especially includes all of the ones in Washington with a (D) after their names. Which, IMHO, is the vast majority of them. Most especially their America hating ringleader.
PCUSA, maybe it should be spoken Pee Cee Cussers?
You worship a false god!
Granted, Presbyterian theology tends to a “replacement” theology and so has less of a philosophical reason to be friendly towards Jews. It’s far less of a problem with dispensationalism e.g. most Southern Baptists.
