Iraq: Shia Cleric Issues Threat To US Forces
sky.com ^ | June 21, 2014

A Shia cleric loyal to anti-US cleric Moqtada al Sadr has warned that the 300 US military advisers en route to Iraq will be attacked.

In a sermon from Baghdad's Sadr City district, Nassir al Saedi threatened what he called "the occupier", saying: "We will be ready for you if you are back."

The warning comes after President Barack Obama announced the deployment of US military advisers, made up mostly of special forces.

Their aim is to help the Iraqi government in its fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the group of Sunni extremists who have seized cities and towns across northern Iraq.

Al Saedi's threats highlight a potentially dangerous secondary front for US forces heading to Iraq. Moqtada al Sadr's militia fought the Americans in at least two rounds of street warfare during the eight years US troops were on the ground there.

Obama’s feeble response was completely inadequate and completely too late.

Almost 2 people die each year from lightning playing golf.
So, there is hope.

Let’s see. The Iraqi government doesn’t want Americans there. The Sunni ISIL wants to kill Americans. The Mahdi Army of the Shia wants to kill Americans. 300 troops are going to help how? Yes indeed. Bug out.

Were I the President this would be my response to the Muslim Cleric:

If you kill an American. I will drop a 20 megaton nuclear weapon on Mecca at the height of The Haj! I will also drop a 20 megaton nuclear weapon on Medina at the same moment. There is nothing your god can do to stop it. There is nothing all of Islam can do to stop it. The only thing that you may do is to use all of your earthly power to stop the killing of Americans. If you do that, you may live and continue the charade that is your religion. If not, you will die. Millions of your followers will die and the entire world will know immediately and forever that you worship a demon-possessed pedophile and a false god and there is nothing you may do to change that fact. Islam constitutes a 'clear and present danger' to the United States and Americans. We are no longer willing to tolerate that existential threat.

Unfortunately B.O. is president.

The difference being that I actually love my country. I want it and its people to prosper and I would fulfill my oath of office to protect the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.

The US had this guy in their sites in 2004, but my understanding is the US was convinced not to kill him by Senior cleric Ali al-Sistani. Probably one of the many big mistakes in managing the Iraq war....

Don’t get me wrong, I agreed fully with your reply to the Shia Terrorist Cleric. I truly believe ideas expounded on FR would go a long way toward solving all of our economic and foreign policy dilemmas. But nobody will follow them.

An American soldier going back into Iraq now has to keep an eye out in every conceivable direction. An attack can come from any where and from any body.

Yep, I remember this turd. I always thought he merited the same sort of treatment that Saddam's sons received. He's only resurfacing now because he knows he has nothing to fear from Barry.

Sounds like a clear invitation to "come and get me."
Works for me!

I'm sure that moron's exact location will be easy enough to identify.

Well, perhaps they can't stop it. But they won't be mortally damaged by the strike, and they will be able to exploit it. Skipping the obvious political fallout, this will simply trigger the fall of the USA, as every country on the planet will happily hit us with sanctions.

Al Sadr is sponsored by Iran. Politically, he is an agent of Iran. I think only the western media and public don’t realize this.

Yes, the coalition had Al Sadr in their sights in 2004. They even had a diagram of where he lived and slept in the Imam Ali mosque in Najaf. My understanding was that since he was not a terrorist he could not be apprehended.

Al Sistani is different from Al Sadr. Sistani does not support Al Sadr and is aligned with the interests of Iraqi Shia rather than Iranian political interests.

Did you know Al Sadr is practically illiterate and drools when he speaks? He’s essentially retarded, likely from inbreeding.

This Sadr city cleric is just making a proxy statement for Iran.

The majority of Iraqi Shia do not support Iran or Al Sadr. What support they offer is usually for the goodies they receive which are funded by Iran.

Remember it was Al Sistani, the Iraqi Shia leader, who called for volunteers to defend the cities. One and a half million answered the call. Sistani never made such a request to fight against the Coalition during the occupation. Al Sadr did but few answered and he brought in the Iranians. Lots of Shia in Najaf and Karbala resent him and Iran for the mess they made -robbing banks, occupying hospitals and the destruction from their ejection by Coalition forces.

Let’s wait until Sadr’s head is severed from the dull blade of an ISIS saw and then go help.

How about that deal?

About 300 - he's making the "advisors" carry their own when he sends them.

“I will drop a 20 megaton nuclear weapon on Mecca at the height of The Haj!”

Better and much simpler, arm all the “supplicants” at Mecca with full auto weapons (for their protection), then drop several planeloads of pigs in parachutes over the site. And voila! the Muzzies will kill each other trying to get the pigs. Follow with a pig fat “douche” of the area.

This religious war has been going on since about the year 630. It will continue, no matter what the US does.

Likely a non-issue, if Bush 41 had not let Colin Powell talk him out of finishing off Saddam in the Gulf War. That was one of the major failures of GHW Bush, IMO. ...Then, Clinton did nothing to curtail Saddam’s production of WMDs and the killings.

Sounds like your talking in the past tense yet we have yet to see the responses outcome. Of course, any response is likely not a finale since after this rebellion is halted another will eventually begin. By then we can blame another president for not stabilizing a country in religious war for centuries. Too bad Bush took out the dictator this country needed to keep the peace.
